I bought the bike from a fellow farkiner about 6 months ago and it was in perfect condition when I got it.
The bearings were all reconditioned and the bike was professionally serviced.
I then bought a bunch of new parts for it to get the weight down (the old bomber forks and 5th element coil shock weighed a ton!), as follows (all items 08 unless otherwise spec):
RockShox Revelation 426 Dual Air forks (Pikes but with QR)
DT Swiss Shock (vgc 2nd hand)
Avid Juicy 5 brakes + 6" discs
XT Cranks / BB / Front rings
WTB Speed Disc rims
Ti Seat (Sette brand, little known)
Then serviced it at Bike Addiction (the best North of the bridge).
The bike now weighs a little over 13 kgs and can go anywhere. It's fantastic. control at speed is unrivalled. Jumping, brilliant. It handles like a dream.
The problem is, I'm 6'1" and while I generally love a bike slightly smaller for me, this is just too small. I need to sell it and will probably buy a large Heckler ... or my back will not live me in 10 years time.
