Australia also won the 25-29 male age group thanks to Andy Fellows (AUS) - 14 laps 22:05:48,

Australia took first and second in 35-39 male age group due to an amazing effort from both Troy Bailey (AUS) - 13 laps 22:05:45 and Jason McAvoy (AUS) - 13 laps 22:59:40.

there were also stand out performances in the Under 25 male thanks to Joel Donney and his 2nd place

and the Elite women where Katrin Van der Spiegel also came 2nd.

Congratulations to all the Aussies. Incredible effort from every one of you. Well done.

Was the final lap cutoff time considerably early?

Under 24 Hours of Adrenaline rules if you start a lap before 12:00 noon (when the course is closed), you must finish that lap by 1:00 pm on Sunday or that lap does not count towards the total number of laps

That's interesting - so did James W try and squeeze in another lap but not make it? or did he get to 16 and decide to stop, hoping that 2nd place wouldn't be able to squeeze in another lap before 1pm? Just interested in the tactics, plus I was trying to figure out at what point he'd won the race cos the interview with him looked like he'd just finished a lap.
