Default 2003 Intense Tazer [Final Build]

    The story so far:
I had an Intense Tazer from 1999-2001. Loved it. It was the only bike I wish I'd never sold.
So when one of the final 2003 models came up for sale - in perfect condition - I couldn't resist...
This is my 'final' build (4th variation!):

Frame - 2003 Intense Tazer FS (Medium) monocoque T6-6061 Al, FSR/Horst Link, 75/100mm travel
Shock - RockShox Monarch 4.2 (MotionControl w/adjustable FloodGate lockout)
Fork - 09 RockShox Reba Team All Travel Dual Air w/Maxle Lite QR 20mm axle, 100mm travel
    Handlebar - Easton Havoc AM, 711mm x 1.5" rise
    Stem - Thomson X4 Elite 50mm x 0 degree rise
    Headset - Chris King NoThreadSet
    Grips - ODI Ruffian Lock-On w/black collars
Rear Shifter - SRAM X.0 in Redwin Red w/MatchMaker mount
Saddle - SDG I Fly IBeam black/white leather w/Kevlar corners
    Seatpost - Thomson Elite 31.6mm x 400mm (cut to 300mm)
    Seatclamp - Intense Factory
Brakes - Avid Juicy Ultimates w/160mm G2CS rotors
Cranks - RaceFace Deus XC 170mm
Bottom Bracket - RaceFace Deus XC
    Chainring - RaceFace DH, 38T
Chainguide - Gamüt USA P40, ISCG 03 mount
Bashgard - Gamüt USA P40, white
    Chain - SRAM PC-991 w/PowerLink
    Pedals - Wellgo Magnesium
Rear Derailleur - SRAM X.O Super Short Cage in Redwin Red
Derailleur Cable - Jagwire L3 braided Kevlar/Teflon coated inner
    Cassette - SRAM PG-970DH 11-26
Wheelset - Easton Havoc AM (w/DT Swiss Spokes)
    Skewers - Easton Havoc AM
Tyres - Intense System 4 XC 2.25" (folding bead)
    Tubes - Maxxis Ultralight
Frame Protection - THE chainstay protectors/3M Clear Protectors
    Total weight - 13kg (28.6 lbs)

And the original 2000 model I owned:

(The older posts following detail some of the different builds along the way).

Thats a nice ride. Good to see that you had your eye out for your favorite bike and got it.

Lol I want to see this in action, its not gonna make much difference in saddle height.. more of moving the saddle back.

Hehe. Yeah, the Joplin is more about riding to the track then dropping it when there. It does make some difference. The post is too low right now (that was pre-cut by Rhys) so a it more as standard height will be better.
This will be my stuff-about bike.
I'm too old and slow to bother racing (let alone getting to the races when you've got 2 kids ruling your life...).
I'm running a 38T front ring with an 11-34 rear & long cage derailleur.
I didn't want to get more specific than that, as all the gear is swappable with the Trance (takes about 45 minutes to transfer everything between the 2 frames).

Looks very nice. A lot of money spent on it, but well worth it. Are you using it as a 4X bike, or just a kinda do all bike?

    Looks great!

I prefer the older HL Intense frames too.
Yes I have more bikes than you can point a broken spoke at...
