    Default Brisbane - Gap Creek Trails CLOSED

    So apparently it got a bit windy in Brisbane the other night? Anyway, Oppy has some news on the Gap Creek trails in the wake of the epic storm;

    Hi Everyone,

    I have been asked to tell riders that it is not currently considered safe to be out riding at Gap Creek at the moment. You would think it is obvious but apparently there were lots of riders out yesterday. There have been lots of trees damaged and fallen. There will also be weakened trees and hanging branches which pose a significant hazard.

    Please consider the area closed until further notice.

    I was rostered off yesterday so I have not been out to check the trails yet. I will most likely be helping out with other more important repair work or tree clearing work for the general public. When I can I'll get out and check on the trails.

    Please pass this on to other riders to get the word out.

    Yours Sincerely,

    ha ha, I cant believe people actually thought they could ride the trails. Its hard enough to actually drive down the street with the amount of trees, powerlines etc down.

    Plus the amount of rain etc, I hate to think what the trails are like. Perhaps there will be heaps of jumps over logs now!

    It will need lots of work to fix it all I imagine.

    I think Daisy hill will be fine. It was mainly Mt Cootha, The Gap, Ferny Grove and Upper Kedron that got hit bad.

    yeah sure! I don't really feel like riding right now when half my house is destroyed!

    There are heaps of Army crew around, maybe Oppy should arrange to get them down on the trails when they have finished getting the trees off all the houses!

    yep they do have power! But we are avoiding that place as we figured everyone in the suburb will be eating out there. The Paddo was much quieter last night.
