Default AMB Dec/Jan Issue - Out Now

The Dec/Jan ’09 Australian Mountain Bike is out now. Jam packed? Hell yes! Look out for Ben Cory shredding the Canberra trails to pieces on the cover. It’s another monster 132 page issue, plus you get a free Dirt Works 2009 catalogue as well as the chance to win an $8500 Ibis!

    Default Dirtworks Catalogue

Is there anybody from Dirtworks who can explain the lack of prices in the catalogue? For years you didn't put prices in and then last year you did and now we are back no prices... What's the reason for that?

Dito, I was just about to ask the same thing!

I went to look for a price on some ODI's, but it wasn't there.

Anyway, AMB has been a good read so far, better than the last one.

Bloody frustrating having a catalogue with no prices. Always used to be fun sitting having a flick through last years one with a wad of cash in hand looking at what you could afford.

Prices change especially when the dollar is doing what it is doing now.

It's better to have your LBS quote you an 'up to date' price than getting an 'out of date' one from a catalogue.

I spose, but any price is better than none.

but it would be out of date within the week. People would just get pissed at the massive price rises and get it off crc.

actually... the very first two DW catalogues (1 + 2) didn't have pricing in them.

This one is number 11. So the last 8 did.

Not putting them in this year was not a choice. We sighed off on the proofs (for printing) in mid October.

This was just as the Aussie dollar was begining it's tumble from 0.95 to it's current 0.64 (yesterday?) *** UPDATE *** as of this morning we've tanked at 0.60

We went back and forth trying to decide if the currency was going to stabilise.

We worked out pricing based on 0.90 (expecting it to level off)

We then re-did it all based on 0.85 (couldn't go that low right?)

At this point the dollar hit the sub 0.70 zone and we decided that it wasn't fair to include pricing that would be wildly incorrect. (hell... what if it did rebound back to the 0.90)

Had we printed pricing... it would have been out by almost 30% by now.

I'm sorry... and I know it sucks.

We did include pricing for Wheelcraft wheels and even they are wrong now... (check with your dealer)

All I can say... is check with your local dealer for more accurate pricing. (they've had a copy of the catalogue for a few weeks now).

Again... my appologies for the inconvienence.

    Elvis.
