Default Yes, Farkin has changed its name to Rotorburn

Farkin.net is in the process of changing over to the name Rotorburn, in an effort to make the title more family-friendly. This is something Scott has been planning for almost a year, as the Farkin name was a little bit limiting in terms of publicity, and off-putting for many people.
First let me assure you that this is not one of those shady pyramid schemes you've been hearing about. Our model is the trapezoid.

And the date of the change is purely coincidental.

I will miss the name Farkin, even though I could never talk about the site in front of my kids!

    Default Name Change

Personally, this is something that I've been nagging Scott to do for years.

I hope it isn't just a 1st April joke as a name change will allow the site to progress a lot more and build it's credibility amoungst the corporates.

I'd rather advertise a product as ".....as tested on rotorburn.com" than "....as tested on farkin.net."

Nothing against the original name, but, try telling the Mum of a new STP-2 owner to get their son to visit "farkin.net" to hook up with other riders.

I don't sell bikes or recommend young-uns to the site, but I must say, I cringe a little bit everytime I've had to tell someone I saw it on "farkin.net", which is usually followed by a string of porn site jokes.

It's the right decision, although Farkin will always have a little place in everyone's heart.
