    Mojo suspension upgrade for Shivers...?

Hey all, i was just wanting to know if you have heard anything or are currentley using Mojo's suspension catridge upgrade for Shivers.

Descent World has a review on them for Boxxers http://www.transcendmagazine.com/rev...o_boxcart.html but Mojo also make one for the Shivers, which is what im intersted in, has anyone used or heard stuff about them?

If they use the same catridge system for the Shivers this is likley to cut even more weight from the forks when compared to the Boxxers due to the extra oil in Shivers currentley, right?

If you have heard anything about the Boxxer upgrade though your comments would be nice. Are they really as good as what the review says they are?

    Thanks

Do you really feel that the damping in your Shivers isn't good enough? (and besides that, will the Mojo one be any better?)
It would probably knock a bit of weight off, is that what you're after?

I emailed mojo about boxxers and they replied to get onto dirtworks au. I sent dirtworks au a msg and they replied that they have only jsut started talks with mojo so they don't have a ball park rrp yet. Shivers I don't think they woudl be any real advantage apart form weight (the internals of shivers are already pritty good) but for boxxers they should be a great upgrade. (should be as none here actually has one and I haven't felt one)

If you want a more indepth discussion of the boxxer carts, go have a look at ridemonkey.com, a few guys on that forum have the upgrade, but i havn't seen anyone with the shiver upgrade. The performance betweent the two would be pretty similar tho, its more how much different from the stock damping is the question.

Interesting- shivers feel so good out of the box already... fiddle around with the oil and springs if you are suffering, because that is the cheapest first

Thanks guys, yeh Ridemonkey was were was i origianlly saw the topic a month or so ago, i just hadnt seen anything on the Shivers like you say.

The Shivers do work great and are tuned pretty darn good so there isnt a problem there, maybe my question should be why would Mojo release a Shiver upgrade, if Shivers work well as is....is it actaully an upgrade in perfomance to say a Dorado or a Risse, or is it just wank factor and stupidity on the part of Shiver owners?

Lossing over half a kilo in weight off the front end (assuming you lose more with the Shiver upgrade) is part of the equation though.

    Thanks

If you send dirtworks.au an email concerning the kits is will hopefully get a bit more urgency in there negotiations! The more people interested the fast they will land in aus.

Upgrade to a Risse FROM a Shiver? Uh... that's sort of like falling upwards, it isn't really physically possible.

Shivers are VERY well damped, and the ease of adjustability of Marz forks is IMO what makes them so great. As soon as you put the Mojo cart in, you have no control over the bottoming via oil height, which to me is a huge advantage of Marz forks/damping over all else (and why I've owned 5 Marz's and a single Manitou and nothing else). For example, my Super T's are considerably undersprung for someone my weight (I think they're medium or even soft springs, I'm 90kg) but because there's just the right amount of oil in there, they never ever bottom (they get within about 5mm of bottoming before they get hydraulic lock, which is quieter and softer on the wrists than bottoming). I think once you put the Mojo cart in, you'll lose that feature, which IMO makes it not worth it. For a Boxxer Race or a Junior T or something it might be justified, but for a Shiver? I wouldn't say so.

The best set of forks i have ever ridden are the Risse Champs from about 97/98, end of question, they still out peform any other fork i have ridden.

Thanks for the other info, thats what i always thought, i just couldnt see why anyone would put the mojo in the shivers...for the reasons listed. Would be nice to be able to ride one to actually see what differences there is though

    Cheers
