The Canberra Times Today Reported:
"A serious undiagnosed heart ventricle problem caused champion ACT athlete James Williamson's death at 26, although his athleticism was likely to have masked the problem and prolonged his life, a relative said last night.
Williamson's aunt Megan Patey said his post-mortem examination reveled the ventricle problem which was possibly genetic.
"It was not caused by cycling or made worse by cycling. In fact his fitness probably masked it" she said "It was a little time bomb that was sitting there. It was going to happen. It was a hard condition to diagnose. On Jame's last night he would have been comfortable and he wouldn't even have known it was happening".

Everyone here at Rotorburn extends their deepest sympathy to the family. It was weird to get a copy of the Latest Enduro magazine in the mail yesterday. As per usual Willo had cramed it full of great storys from the sport he loved. The fact he was stepping down as editor to pursue riding more seriously was disappointing as a reader but made sense as a rider. James was at the helme of Enduro from issue 4 to issue 15. Maybe flick through some of the old issues and revisit them with James. The sign-off in the latest editorial is more the poignant now. Willo talks about the future of our sport lying in all of us working on advocacy and access to trails.
A measure of the endearment of a Aussie bloke can be measure by the amount of nicknames he has and James "Jimbo","Jimmy","Willo" Williamson is hopefully tearing around some singletrack somewhere without a no bike sign in sight.
Willos last Magazine went on the sale the this week. Check the editorial and soak up the passion.
