Sorry to here

Yes, he went to Ourimbah today and broke and completely snapped both bones in his left arm, they are poking out of his arm as we speak, completely ripped the skin.
He has also broke his right arm and wrist.
He is undergoing surgery either tonight or tommorow.
Would like a name & contact number of someone to speak about this post, please PM me.

Hoping for a quick recovery.

Thanks Wayne G

I was scoping the same gap (maybe 12-15 feet?) while Nick and his brother where deciding if Nick could clear it.. the landing is safe, you could over jump the landing by meters without getting into trouble.. he came in to slow, cased the lander, rolled on the front for a bit then keep going straight over.. he probably has crashed the same way plenty of times, just this time landed straight onto his left arm.. his left wrist was bent almost 90 degrees to his arm, but the bone had not passed through the skin, so unless it poked through on the way to the hospital in the back of the car?? Id be surprised if both arms where broken and for his sake hope their not.. to Nick, all the best mate, you showed a lot of courage and im sure youll come back stronger and faster in a few months..

Just what I have been told over the phone but knowing my brother who was there that you mentioned, I would n't be suprised if this was over-exagerated.

I was told "His bones were visible through the skin. This may have also meant you could clearly see the bone popped out, just not coming out through the bone.

Not quite sure.....

Both arms are broken, Ty, just spoke to him on the phone. Recovery for the injury is about 16 weeks from what I can work out from researching ulna and radius injuries on the internet. His left ulna is broken and both radius' are aswell, he will have surgery tommorow at Gosford Hospital from what I can work out. Oh and for everyone wondering, his mum has photos so we can all witness the carnage sometime soon:)

Sketch double by the way the one after the gully its faster to go the outside line where u dont jump its a similiar gap to the big one further down with fuck all run in. I remeber seeing that kid holding his wrist with his dad as i went by so i must have just missed him stacking it, always bad to see that sort of stuff and i hope he recovers well. Have to give props to wanyo and brad (and anyone else who worked on it) for making such a nice line above the old rock garden im not sure if its quicker but your exit speed is 10x quicker than it was before which means less pedaling which is always a good thing

That last double near the finish is a bit of a monster! Well done to any one involved in the new track. As i said before , it had been over 2 years since i last rode the track , and i found it so much more enjoyable now. Shame i blew my race run so early on , putting my head into a tree!

I think it'd be pretty good if you cleared it fine, probabally not a huge speed difference though. I take the outside line and just get sent off like 5m by the little dowramp and that feels pretty fast to me. Haven't tried the whole thing yet.. apparently heaps of people case it.

Hey,
That has gotta hurt, all the best with the recovery, but i hope they dont get rid of any of the big jumps because they make the track fun and flowy.

I was another victim of the big double down the bottom.
As far as I can tell, i made the distance, but my bike got spat out the the right on landing and I landed on my head and left shoulder and did a huge scorpion!
Took myself down to St Vincents last night to get my back checked out and luckily no fractures.
I'm feeling a bit dazed, stiff and sore today though.

i watched a heap of people doing the jump on sunday but only a handful or so were landing the down ramp properly, the rest were casing the down ramp. Great jump for spectating, cause everyone loves carnage.

Rode the track today, great work there by Wayno and Brad its going to take a few runs to get the new TOP ROCK Garden sorted out but the shute coming off the end of it you get some speed coming into the jump, pallet rock jump section...

BTW if you are going up there on Friday to do some pre NSW Race track work PM me and I will assist as there are a few items that need attending to.. (the jump, pallet rock jump section has a couple of broken rails etc)

try bunny hopping that downramp or pumping it your speed will increase alot.

Hey guys,
Yer I was the guy who stacked on one of the last doubles. Just got out of hospital this afternoon after 3 days of it. Thought I had heaps of speed to hit it but I guess not, didn't kick me nearly as much as I thought it would. Just a misjudgement on my part and hadn't riden in a while so I probably should have been more patient.

Went to Wyong hospital then got transported to Gosford as I needed a special doctor. Injuries are totally snapped both bones in my left arm just before the wrist joint and broken radius in my right arm. My left arm was snapped at 90 degrees and I had no idea I had broken my right arm until I was in hospital. I think that's why it hurt so much for me to support my left arm with my right arm which was also broken. Also the bones in my left arm did not break the skin at all. That was just something that a certin someone said as at the time I thought they were going to.

Will probably be out for quite a while (seeing another specialist on Monday)but as this is my 5th broken bone and 30+ stitches from downhill I'm seriously thinking if it's worth all this and I might just stick to less dangerous sides of mountain-biking. Still not sure and obvisiously it's not the best time to tell at the moment. I have a feeling I will keep riding.

I'd just like to thank the people that helped me out when I came off. Sorry I can't remember your names but one guy had a green and white Kona, another guy had a black V10 and his son who had a white VP-Free. You guys made a bad experience a lot better and if you or anyone could PM me with your phone numbers so I can thank you properly that would be great.

Hope everyone goes well at the state round as it's an awesome track. Well done to the builders and I'll see if I can get some pictures up soon,

Nick

P.S: I can wipe my own arse so I'm pretty stoked with that....there's always a silver lining;)

Hay mate Glad to hear that you are OK. My mate (Glory, Green and Gold TLD Jersey) was there when you crashed. I had already gone past you. He said that he thought you were going to stop but you just kept going way to slow and just nose dived in to the back of the down ramp. Anyway good to hear your ok that was a nasty brake.

PS the Guy with his son was from Lithgow if that helps at all

Yer I just hesitated coming around the corner but still thought I had tonnes of speed. Hadn't riden in a while and I guess I just misjudged it completely. Did a practise run and landed in the middle and that seemed to kick me quite a bit. Also hit the wrong part of the lip, I hit the lowest part in the middle of the lip and I was planning to hit it on the right where the lip hadn't been corroded.

Also it would have been a good idea to wait and see someone else hit it before I decided to.

Well you'v got balls to try it when you had not ridden for a while. Did you hit the big lip to the right or the smaller one on the left?
