So she's finally back to bare frame. I'm currently prepping all the main bits for paint/anodising. How's this for a fancy bit of engineering for a 15 year old bike...

Yup that's in there for noise supression, pretty sure it isn't as good as fibreglass for reducing noise but isn't as likely to burn out/disintegrate.This'll probably have a few people laugh at me but...
Why is there a steel-wool like substance fixed in my exhaust? I can only think that it would be there for sound dampening, but I can't find anything on the net saying that this sort of material is used...?
He's right. I had an AE86, rust-free (had it all cut out) with 150 000km. Sold it in 2000 for $3000 and it took AGES to sell.I figure you all probably hate the 'WAT CAR IZ GUD?' people, but at the risk of that I'd just quickly like to know:
AE86, 250,000km, original 4A-C engine and new springs+shocks. Very very clean, no gay mawdzz. $5,000?
I was talking to a family friend who was a mechanic for like 40 years (you know the type). Said that the car was brilliant, sounded very keen until he asked about the price.
He laughed and literally pulled out the great Castle classic, "tell him he's dreaming". Anything over $2,000 he said was far too much. I'm having a somewhat difficult time believing that, considering the price that they do often sell for??
Yep. Obviously the lower one is too.sxe, is that top triple clamp made out of billet or something? looks trick!
Aright, thanks. Will definitely look around for a 71 then, they do come up far faaaar cheaper than the 86 from what I've seen. You're better off with an AE71 Corolla which is essentially the same apart from the shell and chassis, the difference in handling between them is negligible after good suspension tuning. $5,000 is too much, 4age swapped 86's with light suspension work come up for 7-8k fairly often, the only valuable part is the clean shell.
86's generally don't have gay mawdz, what do you mean by that? Most common mods have a positive effect, some less than others.
the top bit will fall off. had one in my uteI have the same shifter knob in my ute super cheap auto does wonders!
I dont know about those ones but pop rivets are one use only. get the drill out.First mod...ever!
Also is there someway to get these pop rivets out without breaking them?
I presume you're referring to the plastic bits holding trim in place? You kinda have to lever them up with a small screw driver/bread knife. Also is there someway to get these pop rivet things out without breaking them?
No relation.Been looking at dirty 30's (e30 BMW's) thinking cheap stance/drift/bogan ride.
And Floody are you related to Flood motorcycles in Lilydale in Melbourne?
