Obvious troll was obvious.
No the Nicolai can be dropped with a switch to 250w pedelec. It's not a motorcycle which starts at 9000 watts. One is 36 times the other. Are you ok with numbers?

It's a Nicolai. You know their background yes?

Dozer going uphill would be daft. Agreed. Possibly a spinal risk.

But just as their are dickheads in Gravity there are dickheads on power. I hate the noise motos make FWIW
Actually pretty good with numbers, certainly better than what you are with words. Stirk and I were talking abut the bike that 99_FGT was raised "bloke on an ebike doing 40 easy, not pedalling, on the footpath". You can tell this because I quoted both of them in my post, comprehend? And as I said clearly a motorbike.

I am not sure if you have started to believe your own BS but motorcycles don't start at 9000watts? As we have shown before they start at 200watts unless they are a 15194 pedelec.

As for Nicolai, yeah know who he is, absolute legend for the bikes he has produced but he has produced some ugly bike over the years and that is right up with the ugliest of them. And if it isn't complied as a 15194 pedelec, it isn't.

No you referenced three different points beneath the Nicolai pic. I'm not sure your grasp of English is what you think it might be.

And as for the Nicolai not being 200watt capable it clearly can be. As for the 8000 odd watts between bicycle and 125cc class there's a whole bunch of classes including motoped.

Now I'm quite sure you abide by all laws yourself and even have a bell and reflectors fitted to your bicycle. Am I right?

I hate the fact that I'm buying in to e-bickering but the dude was 100% clearly NOT talking about the Nic bike. HE quoted the discussion he was referring to and never mentioned the Nic. I can't understand why you actually think he was, to be honest.

That's not the major concern here, accelerated wear and excess speed in the wrong places on trails is. It's a lot harder to be achieved with a pedal only bike. Build your own trails to ride them on and do what you like. :nono:

Yeah we covered that earlier. Many of us do build trails.
And there's no appreciable damage to trails. Direct that at folks who brake on berms.

With all new technologies the early adopters listen to the old goat objectors. Reasons not to adopt get fabricated to suit egos.

Calculators were going to ruin math skills. Phones were going to kill letters. Mobiles were for wankers. SUVs were going to cause meth addiction.

The wave is here. It's doubling every year.

No one is saying not to use them at all, things like mobile phones are banned in a lot of places for good reasons. For me there is no point going to electric even when I'm old, half the challenge is getting up that steep hill under my own power. I'll just go fishing or take up lawn bowls and move over to let the younger folk enjoy what I once did without pesty e-bikers.

I've hardly ever seen blokes skid on my local trails on purpose, if it's something that's common down south I wouldn't have a clue.

Jesus wept...is that SamD and other idiots suggesting that DH ebikes be used as 'fitness machines' for fucktards on plain Jane bike or multi use trails when not doing downhills?

Wonders just won't go away...

well, they are trying to sell electric motorbikes....

You're clearly trying to sell electric motorbikes. Good for you. I hope your customers read all your responses to this thread :)

While irresponsible and a fucking dick people like that will help the legislators make rulings to officially classify ebike as a motorcycle and unfortunately may give more argument to the registration of bicycles.
^^^^ this.

If you choose to E bike off road, stick to the trail direction and you should be fine.
using pedelec to replace shuttling seems fine though.
Hmm. Fine and sharey, but both ideas have obvious risks. Are e-motorbikers (see chart earlier) *really* going to just go down the DH track and then ride up stromlo road, for instance? I doubt it.

E-Bikes are awesome for two reasons.

1. Clean, low impact form of transport alternative to I.C.E commuting or public transport.
2. Replacing a petrol motorbike if you want to go cross the nullarbor or something
fixed it for you :)

Thousands of kilometres of trail for use by motorised offroad vehicles already exist. If you're riding bikes with motors, go knock yourselves out!

How to I stop this shitty thread appearing in my new posts list? I really don't know how many different ways the electric motor bike brigade need to be told that the "current perspective" of the general mountain bike population is they are disliked.

Calculators HAVE destroyed maths skills

Not phones, but email HAS killed letters

Mobiles aka smartphones HAVE killed socialising, creating more and more wankers

Ebikes will be added to the list in time....

With the current climate of obesity, and the technological era removing basic skills, how can you justify supplying Ebikes which require no skill/effort to pedal thus creating even more lazy people and adding to the obesity epidemic as riders start to have less energy expenditure yet their perception of healthy exercise remains?

Au contraire. On private property? Bang it up to 800 watts (whoop de Doo)

Want to pedelec commute somewhere that a pushy can't do in time and leave the car at home - or connect up the gaps between single trail sections by roads etc? Do that too.

You seem to think the toothless gorms on 50cc stinky bikes are the sort of folks who'd buy this Nicolai.
I'm thinking that ain't gonna happen.

So you don't like noisy motorbikes, and you think commuters on 2 stroke commuters are "toothless gorms"?

You should probably consider reading what you post before you hit enter or consider selling another product, you're alienating your biggest potential customer base, i say that because reading through this thread it seems an uphill battle to make a sale on the majority of MTB'ers.

I ride an enduro, i think it sounds sweet, i also occasionally commute on my "nifty50" when i need to get somewhere in a hurry and don't want to take the car. I ride bicycles for enjoyment and to keep fit, and being a toothless gorm (whatever the fuck that is???) i can say i would not consider an E bike, ever, i just don't see the point in them.

And there is no way a powered bike (yep, it's a MOTORbike) should be allowed on mountain bike trails, they were designed for pedal power, not horsepower or watt power.

I don't want any more customer base. This isn't my demographic.
We're all around you. Many of us are fit and ride all classes of unpowered bikes.

Today's bandsaw effort. Off for blasting. Then it's Kevlar and CF time. And some steerer correction.

And yet a much better falling rate than a Kona thanks to the Specialized patent on the rear end.

Nah we put that back thru bikeCAD and fit new springs.

Just seemed a big call for a Kona fan to pick on a Norco's appearance.

Not a fanboy of any brand actually but any Kona is gunna look better than what you are doing to that Norco.

I'll admit she's an ugly bike, too much yellow...
