I emailed GVBP with some questions that some of you raised in this thread and the director of GVBP got back to me stating "We will have questions answered (where pertinent or relevant) in an FAQ on our website early next week."

So hopefully this FAQ may alleviate some concerns on here.

I'm just wondering why they call themselves GV when their logo is just V? Apart from some seriously dribbled out hype, and statements from them that basically map out they are going to do it better than every other established bike park and event promoter in Australia , I think that if the project goes ahead it will be a good thing.

Sydney sure does need a bike park that offers dual slalom, Slopestyle, dirt jumps, jump trails, downhill , enduro, all mountain at the same venue. It's great that GV is offering that. I mean. Wait. Which GV are we talking about here?

I love that they are doing a crowdfunding campaign when one of the glenworth valley bike park directors is an associate director in a business that specialises in raising finance for venture capital. I guess crowdfunding was their researched go to for this project.

Hmmm doesn’t take much to think about it.... there obviously needs to be some point of difference!

Don’t turn this into one of those bucket and spade sandpit spats.

Plus you forgot the XC crowd ;)

Not much to report but the dude bro talk is gone from their website - still no FAQ.

Yeah closer to Gossie than Sydney which suits me

Some good points made regarding the crowd funding model.

I think what would help is clarification that the park is opening regardless, and that the crowd funding is a top up to speed things up or get them further along.

I'd certainly be happy to buy my first pass or two now and wait for opening day if that's the case.

Looks like they're about 1/10th of the way there at this point, but with a bit of certainty I imagine that will pick up.

A tenth of what?

I’m assuming some arbitrary funding number, but do you mean a tenth of the trails are built or a tenth of the bro words available have been used?

This is the most untransparent MTB related promotion I’ve ever witnessed.

“Bro dude awesome give us money sweet dude chairlifts maybe”.

Give me a break.

There was a very similar campaign here not too long ago...bros we need some of yawr bro dosh...

From the very patchy information available at the time there was some businesses related to the cycling industry keen to get a governement grant to build some trails. But they needed money from the people to get it rolling and show there was community support. But then the grant didn't happen and suddenly there was nothing.

Couldn't agree more. I'm happy to prepay some lift days now... but I want more info...

Everything way too vague.

I donated $125. Still no email regarding delivery of pack and pre shuttle passes. Or any actual information on the project I donated my $$ to. Plus the pivot bike is now gone from the "chance to win " if you donated more than $100. It's been replaced by $10k prize awarded to one lucky person.

Maybe they mean that's the bike then.

This campaign is a fucking joke.
