Look if that woman wan to have a full bush who are the police to interfere? They can't force her or any of us to undergo laser hair removal and I'm not going to stand for it anymore either! #gelato

...fuck. looks like another 2 weeks of hell...

Melbourne's roadmap to recovery revealed early
By Olivana Lathouris 05:45am

The plan to ease Melbourne's stage four lockdown restrictions has been revealed early through leaked documents outlining the state's roadmap to recovery.
The draft documents suggest stage four restrictions could last an additional two weeks after September 13 when the lockdown was expected to be lifted.
When stage four restrictions expire, the curfew will remain in place but two people or a household can meet outdoors. If you live alone you can have one nominated visitor over.
More significant changes are likely to come after September 28, with curfews lifted and Melbourians allowed to socialise outdoors with five people. Childcare and face-to-face learning will also gradually return.
At the end of September, outdoor personal training will be allowed with limits and outdoor pools open with a maximum of 20 people.
There will be additional onsite work allowed in some industries but there is no date for the hospitality, retail sector or entertainment venues.
The lifting of restrictions will be guided by case numbers and in order to reach stage two restrictions the state must reach fewer than five daily cases.
At that point, Victorians will see the return of outdoor seated service and reopening of beauty parlours and hairdressers.
The official roadmap to recovery is expected to be announced this Sunday.

edit: looks like the leaked draft document may be 'out of date'? ( it was being reported as the current plan on abcnews, 9 & herald sun this morning)

but now its also leading news on theage ???

...todays pressers sure gonna be interesting!

i really wish dan should just let us know what the hell is happening so we can avoid this speculation and worry... they clearly know what the plan is just let us know what the fuck is going on

Thanks franco cozzo , I got sent the stage 4 restrictions draft doc before the gov had finalised them and there was big changes to which workplaces were “in” and “out” when the final announcement was made..
I think this is a gov leak on purpose to get a read on community sentiment before making further changes or a particular industry/lobbyist group has leaked it to push their agenda..
Either way i bet this document changes before Sunday..

Agree. I also think there's a bit of 'conditioning' involved. Leak a draft where basically nothing changes. Then, when you release something that's still quite strict, without being as bad as the draft, people are more likely to say "it could be worse" and go along with it (mostly) willingly.

No doubt it will change, but the direction is probably pretty reliable. It makes sense to reopen slowly too but god I hope it’s not another 2 weeks of Stage 4 aha.

The 5 cases/day for two weeks seems completely unfeasible. The best run of sub-5 cases we’ve had since 13 March was 6 days from 4-10 June. If we have to wait til we have 14 consecutive days under 5 cases/day we’ll be waiting til 2022.

Yeah agree the general direction will be right, it’s all in the details though.. Keeping stage 4 till the end of Sept has large flow effects federally, ie job keeper. It will be hard to reduce it for Victorians that can’t physically go to work vs the other covid free moocher states that are back to full work..

It's Not Easy Being Green
School holidays are coming up on the 20th.

I would have thought that stage 4 would stay in place until after school holidays are finished. People just wouldn't be able to help themselves...

We'll find out Sunday I guess...

While camping it was interesting to hear the numbers of people saying they would normally be overseas for winter. Mostly Qlders. One group had their sister's motorhome instead of going to Bali. Another couple would normally holiday in Greece or Italy but decided to hire a van and see Qld. So many hire caravans and whingebagos. Camping ground was pretty much full the whole time. Every morning a shed load would leave and every night the sites would be full. Even the high priced cabins were full for the week. And this is outside any school holidays. One place which had accommodation and a restaurant has been closed since March with no signs of opening. Similarly in a couple of the towns there were motels closed up. Lots of wide loads (machinery and offices / cribhuts) heading west and north west so someone is spending money.

Perhaps a small bright spot in the economic lookout - money being spent at home instead...
