Now you've said that of course the clutch pack will fry itself.
The car now has 205,000km on the clock.

A clutch pack needing replacement isn't especially unexpected. But the clutch is still perfectly fine.

Stop trying to equate Fiat-Alfa-Italian ownership experiences with others...

I expect things to go wrong, I also expect things to be resolved fairly quickly. And I expect that issues be broadly known & have fixes because of the mostly decently equipped & supported local dealerships with a large customer base. My VW dealership has dealt with everything so well I use all the fault/fix situations I've had as a positive, not a negative.

Whereas with an Alfa...

That I totally agree wth. Alfa dealers are fucking useless and Fiat Chrysler Australia is one of, possibly the, worst outfit in the industry.

I would never recommend one of their products to anyone who doesn't turn their own spanners or has a tame indie specialist and is willing to wing it on warranty...

I got a good enough deal to run that risk and can fix shit myself if i have to. But the warranty dealing I have had have been a massive ballache and very little of it is the fault of the car itself....

Oh this is good...

That's one I'll try to watch surreptitiously today in between checking election results and not getting any work done. Looks like a great collaboration - always thought Johnny would make a great TG presenter - he was funny af on Fifth Gear.

Worth checking out Chris Harris's podcast Collecting Cars if you're not aware of it too..

I've been following this build - Sasha built the entire package himself:

Holy fucking shit balls - the cornering speed!

I've posted another video of this car earlier:

If you are going to build your own racecar, may as well engineer the entire thing yourself, with a paddle-shift gearbox, 9000rpm V6 ZQ motor with hybrid electric power.

Fucking. Mental.

I would trade the hybrid drive for suspension that didn't try to kill me with lift off oversteer personally (and I like a little lift off oversteer, but faaaark...). Sounds good though!

There was a reason for that - it's explained in the first video.

Pulls 2.2+G in corners!
Fark, yeah well when that breaks traction it's gonna swing out pretty quickly! I didn't watch more than about 30 seconds of the vid to be fair, jusr chanced upon the bit half(ish) way through where he nearly loops it real hard. Kudos to him for the build work, but interesting to see if some more suspension tuning/mods could calm it down a bit in the long term...

That car is crazy looks and sounds great too.

Have you seen Andy Forrest's (crazy genius Scottish dude) latest build? He's making a time attack 4wd Caterham powered by twin turbo LS7 and bulk aero. Should be proper mental when finished, posts update on his Facebook if you want to have a look. Previous car was the Strom trooper Impreza that came to world time attack a few years back.
