COVID-19: who’s going full doomsday prep on this?

I'm still waiting for the explanation from the F-18 pilots mysterious sightings....

All jokes/ribbings aside, spot on. Calling into question 2% of the puzzle doesn't discredit the entire body of work. I'd be very confident betting that Pfizer et al have fudged the numbers slightly. But net benefit is still apparent.

Now if someone could please explain to me how my friend (and that's now becoming a long stretch), who's a practising ED nurse is the USA, 3 years out of training, can be ardently anti vax. I'm lost. I am more lost then poodle at a cyclocross event on that one.

A good friend of mine is a health care professional. They are trained up and in a position to work in a covid overflow role, should the "3 sheets to the wind" approach we now have go shitty, is due for a booster and isn't sure if they will get it. They were very sick with both of their first doses for a prolonged period of time and now can't decide if guaranteed illness from the booster is better or worse than maybe catching the bug. I am sure they will eventually get the booster but they are currently hesitant.

Why don't we just close this thread? Clearly anyone below a nurse isn't qualified to comment on or interpret any scientific literature. So what are we all doing here?
interpreting scientific data is way above a nurses pay grade, i wish ‘i still had copies of their narked uni results, their drug calculation tests were mostly abysmal, the anatomy/phys semester exam avg was often around 37-8%, depending on the year & bell curve some passed subjects w scores into the high 20’s

On the good news side...third doses have started and my wife (still registered, I let my nursing reg lapse years ago) got her third dose Pfizer yesterday. Sore arm only.
Edti...not just a sore arm. She's feeling a little crap all over now. I was hoping the third dose was essentially side fx free other than a sore arm

I can understand a reluctance to trust Big Pharma's motives in a general sense, but to think that all over the globe specialist scientists, ICU doctors and policy makers are collectively in on it, or have somehow fallen for a sales pitch, just isn't credible.
it’s not a sales pitch, it’s cold hard dollars...a big medical company I worked for, gad a small 1 person operation in a medical centre, weekly rent on their 1 room 10 sq metre operation was well over 10,000 a week, they were bank rolling a couple of prominent doctors, not to mention covering elect bills , cleaning expenses and sundries like band aids.cotton balls.
the overseas trips big pharma pays for is astounding

I'm not sure you're ready to hear the blunt answer to that question
I’m ready for it. Tell me it’s aliens removing peoples brains and installing a cloned brain that is running at 40% capacity.

Actually wrote her off as a friend. I just don’t have the energy. Even better is most of the linked “information” has now been discredited by the social media platforms.

Replacing original with a brain at 40% is going to make some of the population so much smarter.

if they are working in a health care role, they may not have a choice. I understand the vax certificates expire too, so if they are keen on participating in society, they may not have much of a choice.

some people are just stupid and cant be helped. I've avoided continuing several friendships since covid started with the same sentiment of not having the energy. I'm just happy that my wife has gone from "its just a sniffle" to "ok, i was wrong" after the first wave.

I've been snotty with what feels like a lump in my throat and full of phlegm for 3 months now, since 2 days after Pfizer #2. Like a mild cold.

Was at the Docs yesterday, he's told me to Vit D, C and zinc overload and just about to head out for a full fasted complete bloods for possible immune system damage.

The flu vax knocks me around for weeks, so I don't get it anymore (well been about 5yrs now).

Wouldn't surprise me if the Corona vax has done the same.

Merry fucking Xmas to you assholes

Or you could just have a cold? Like the two I've caught from my toddler snot bags.

Out of interest did anyone else have zero (or near zero) reaction to their vaccination(s)?
Yes. Fizzer...

Round 1 - sore at injection site for a few hours and had a big nap which is usual for me. Pain was less than tetanus shot and was gone by lunch next day, approx 24 hours.

Round 2 - less sore at injection site and no nap.

One friend had a mad rash from chest to knees for ages both times.

I had a bit of a weird brain fug for a day after my second Pfizer with some weird mood swings and some stupid but that was it. Totally manageable.
Same.

i had zero/next to zero

first shot i had a bit of a sore arm for 3 days, onset after 4hrs.
Second shot, i almost had no pain in the arm either. I started to question if the second shot was even administered, until I found the spot and found with mild discomfort in the muscle when pressing on it.

other than that, absolutely nothing.

Not unbroken for 3 months with the symptoms remaining pretty much the same for all 3 months.

I have 2 at 15 & 16, done my share of school bugs.

Slight dead arm first time around and that was it. No other noticeable reactions
