    Red Bull Hardline Maydena

Love hearing these guys talking about the trail features and how they break them down. The cool thing is they sound just like the rest of us scoping out new trails and enjoying the thrill of nailing something new only on way more insane trails than I will ever attempt.

Take your bikes. Check out Budget Truck Hire at Launceston airport, they do pretty good prices for either a van or ute. Pick up some supplies on the way through Launceston.

https://www.rhinorack.com/en-au/products/sport-awnings/bike-carriers/accessories/number-plate-holder_rbca011 I've been using this for a few years. Fits accessory number plate. Used a couple of webbing straps to hang it under my previous Yakima Hold up and now on my Yakima Stage 2 rack.

    Chain Lube

Had 12 months of riding MTB on a SRAM XO1 chain doing 30-50km a week and my chain is still OK according to my basic chain measuring tool. I wipe my chain after every ride with a dry cloth and it has remained amazingly clean. Really only reapplied after a wet/muddy ride as per instructions...

I've been using Silca Synergetic and it has been outstanding. Seems expensive but you use so little of it, its going to last quite a while. https://zerofrictioncycling.com.au/product/silca-synergetic/

BIKE RACKS AND CARRIERS FOR CARS MEGATHREAD - all questions asked and answered here

I got the Yakima Stage 2, expensive but a great rack for carrying two bikes. Off road rated as well. A bit heavy to take on and off but manageable.

    Derby in Tassi

Got back yesterday from a week in Derby. Arrived to a sunny Sat arvo in Launceston but whilst flying in all we could see was LOTS of water everywhere. Sunday in Derby was cold but sunny and windy and man what a mess. Never seen the Ringarooma and Cascade Rivers so high and they had dropped a lot...

When do you think we will travel with the bike again?

There is a weight penalty to pay using a bike bag but I love my Evoc Bike Bag Pro, it's so much easi I have flown a fair bit with my bike mainly to Tassie and NZ. I have the Evoc bike bag pro and my XXL Hightower which typically weighs in around 24kg with just the bike and pedals in the bag...
