FYI Cardrona is a pain to get to unless you're in a group or have a car. They used to run daily shuttles there before covid but now you have to book either through them or queenstown bike taxis if they are going on a certain day.
Coronet Peak does buses from the car park to the bottom of the...
Also if you call around you may be able to score one of these... $5.5k is a steal!

I was able to source a prototype via the machinist @komdotkom recommended as he's down the road and it solved the problem.
Cheers for the help and offer to machine one up @Dales Cannon. Your back can be saved the pain from doing this
Anyone that has a Trek Fuel EXe, I've attached the design...
If only it was as simple as one of the mountains in Vancouver where you're greeted with a big gate that says 'you pass this gate, you assume all liability for injury'. Whether that's legally binding or not ... different story
The silver one is an M10 head machined down to M8 head diameter ... and the guy in Slovakia was still alive to reply to me so I guess that's a good sign? ha. I'll try source a photo of the head from him to see how much meat was left between the hex socket and edge.
I measured the stock bolt at...
Sweet, will do.
Still pretty new to this so whichever grade you think is best for a pivot bolt with good corrosion resistance.
Also whichever grade makes it easier to get 7.99 or as close to, if that makes a difference.
All off the shelf ones are 7.85. I was tried a M8x80 bolt that was cut down so the thread was offset but that still didn't fit flush in the hardware.
I compared to my Canyon Torque hardware which is also M8x60 but a different thread, and that measured at 7.97 as their pivot bolts are custom made
50mm unthreaded and 10mm thread that is 1.25 thread pitch.
Head has to be the same diameter of an M8 head as it sits inside a recess in the frame but the hex socket size can be from an M10.
A guy overseas had the below silver one machined down from an M10. Black one is an off the shelf M8x60...
Hey guys,
I'm looking to get a custom pivot bolt made.
M8x60 hex socket bolt with 10mm thread.
Nothing too crazy other than it needs to be machined down from an M10 bolt as M8 industry diameter is around 7.85 and I need 7.95-7.99.
Just wondering if you have any recommendations of companies...
