XT Boost cranks in non boost frame

This says 8120 chainline is 55mm. https://bike.shimano.com/en-NZ/product/component/deore-xt-m8100/FC-M8120-1.html This says the 8000 chainline is 53.4mm https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/deorext-m8000/FC-M8000-B1.html Does this mean that the difference in chainlines between 8000...

XT Boost cranks in non boost frame

I thought my bike was boost, but it's not. This is about the difference between boost and non-boost, not 11 and 12 speed.

XT Boost cranks in non boost frame

Can I just fit a 3mm spacer between the crank and the chainring so that the chainline is back at the non boost line.

XT Boost cranks in non boost frame

I want to buy a LR power meter and they are all based on boost cranks. Can I install a shimano XT boost crank in a non boost frame (11 speed, but that should be OK) and will it work OK. Can I get a chain ring setup that works for this? Is the Q factor different? I can't find anything on...

XT 8120 crankset with 11 speed drivetrain

Thanks For some reason, I use my right leg way more than my left leg, so I'm looking for a LR power meter.

XT 8120 crankset with 11 speed drivetrain

I am looking to get a stages power meter but can only get this on an XT8120 crankset. The rest of the bike is XT8000 boost with a press fit bottom bracket. Can I just swap over the XT8000 with the XT8120 and will the 11 speed chain be OK with the 12 speed gear? Is there any aftermarket gears...

    Giant 2017 range

Having read about these 2017 Giants - What is trunion mount? And how do metric shocks make any difference? Apart from needing to have something new to market, this all seems pretty marginal.

    27.5+ = 29?

I just can't keep up with this trend http://www.bikerumor.com/2016/04/26/third-generation-santa-cruz-tallboy-grows-slightly-longer-legs-ability-to-run-fatter-tires/

http://www.bikerumor.com/2016/04/15/soc16-trek-farley-ex-full-suspension-27-5-fat-bike-crushes-seasons-hardtails-get-lighter/ Build it and they will buy it. That's Trek and Spec now building full sus 27.5+ bikes. This is so 2016.

    Convert 29er to 27.5+

Hi I went from 2.1 to 2.4 tyre width and that was pretty good, so going to 2.8 seems to be worth considering. I've got an Anthem 29er and the 27.5+ mid fat conversion seems appealing (although maybe just upgraditus more than anything else). Some info on MTBR, but good to see what has been done...

Wheeler Bikes I think the Wheelers are coming back with the price unchanged for 2015. Not in stock as far as I can tell. http://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/shop/bikes-frames/snow-bikes/1003 Does anyone think it is possible to put a Bluto on the Pheonix or more likely on the Taurus. The...

Giant Anthem X 29er - See first post for info

My 2011 x 29er frame (one of the original shiny ones) cracked at a lug associated with the rear suspension. It was picked up when I put the bike in for a service. I'd had it for just over 2 years, with probably 18 months of single track riding. Giant replaced the original aluminium frame...
