Is it?Also, don't be a fuckwit, it's pretty clear I'm being facetious there.

It is the end of the world as we know it, yes. The loss is extreme. So is it an end of world situation if we don't act now or not?

Dont know that level of detail someone else might chime in or look up the AEC site. I tuned out of the details after I turned off the TV when dutton came on having won with an increased margin... I hit the good whisky at that point. You didnt answer the question. Preferences flow, it is the nature of the system. Highest % of Pauline voters was in northern NSW?
I'd wager there's some contenders for both end of those claims...I was recently told my electricity bill was too low to qualify for the pay early discounts being thrown around. What a fucking joke, the most conservative guy on the entire site is the greenest.
I make no apologies for that either. I absolutely believe that we should have a constitutional guarantee of things like universal healthcare, free education, centralised ownership of electricity, gas, and water generation/supply, and other similar things that under pin a stable and prosperous country. Remove access to this kind of thing from people and it's a slippery slope to chaos. I draw the line at authoritarian dictatorships and only being able to purchase governement brand coffee.there have even been people openly praising Socialism in this very thread.
And don't let your privilege get in the way of a good argument either mateCareful there @DeBloot, you almost got some dirt on that lovely white armour.
It helps them justify the mean “what’s mine is mine” attitude. And ignoring their own reliance on a functioning inclusive and suitably funded society and social services. To me it's about more than climate as well
It's the 'get a go if you have a go' mantra
Fuck me, if that's not a call to the privileged i don't know what is
Some poor fuckers are given no go in life to have a go to start with
Every single liberal voter i know (and I know a few) have no idea how hard it is to start off with a shit upbringing
And I don't necessarily mean low socio-economic - I mean from the many marginalised groups that the LNP ignore
Lots of us drag ourselves out of poverty and don't stay there like a great many do. Some of those stay there because they're lazy or dumb, but a lot stay because of bad luck or lack of opportunity or simply they can never get beyond just keeping it together day to day.How is a rural living, public schooled, first generation child of an illiterate/innumerate family every supposed to get anywhere in life unless you save them?! Tell me?! How can anybody get anywhere in life unless you're there to virtue signal them into a safety and prosperity!!!
I can't go on a long rant about what a great guy I am because I'm not. I struggle with my flaws and my mistakes on a daily basis. I am driven to try and balance how much misery and joy I have brought into the world; one which I feel is greatly out of balance. I've never claimed otherwise.
Now I better get back to reveling in my privilege, and keeping the little man down and smoking cigars and laughing at the poor. Or whatever it is you guys think I do.
@pink poodle I had started replying to your last post but got distracted. I'll try again later.
Liberals, or ‘liberals’?There are two types of liberals - those who made it under tough circumstances and think 'well if i can do it so can everyone else'. The other is those with silver spoon in their mouth thinking life is easy, it's hard for others because they are slack.
The beige chinos and sports jacket sort.Liberals, or ‘liberals’?
Well now I wouldn't mind a cigar and a cognac!smoking cigars
I made no mention of man buns and vegan-democracy sausages...Liberals, or ‘liberals’?

You probably got a hug from your parents rather than a punch in the face
You probably watched your dad kiss your mum rather than beat the shit out of her
You may not have grown up in a house that was thick with the anxiety of impending violence
You may not have had to pick your dad drunk off the floor and make excuses to your friends about why they can't come over
Your teachers probably helped you rather than saying you'll never amount to anything because of your worthless parents
You may not have experienced employers looking favourably on you until they realise you live in a notorious housing commission area
Your problems at home probably haven't led you on a path of self destruction with drugs or alcohol or violent relationships
You probably haven't had people look at you as though you're nothing because of the colour of your skin
You probably haven't had people feel it's ok to call you derogatory names because of skin colour/ family dynamics
You are unlikely to have an endless well of emptiness in your stomach which taints your whole life and leads you to thoughts of suicide
Being a bloke, you are unlikely to get yourself into a terrible relationship and then have a child which you are left to look after but not the skills to do it capably
These are a few of the many reasons which can cause some people to lead the sorts of lives others look down their nose at
There's daffodils and dandelions in life
The dandelions will get by no matter what their upbringing (to a certain extent), while the daffodils thrive with love, but wilt when subjected to any of those situations above
Australia is a great and prosperous country, and anyone not subjected to the situations above or similar, I consider privileged
And it's these marginalised people I believe we have a duty to look after as much as we can because there but for the grace of the devil go I
And I'm not personally attacking you Zaf - the white armour comment is a red rag to a bull though
