Well this thread inspired me to take out my hardtail this arvo and I just got a PRs on a couple of flow sections including Breakout so I guess I'm always overbiked.

I have 5 mountain bikes so can chose to be under or over.
The average person is overbiked but that is the nature of consumer capitalism.
Is the average helicopter mother over carred in her Landcruiser.?
Is the average McMansion too big ?

That is a hobby thing none of the bikes are worth much ,all < $1000 much all old second hand frames and parts but 2 x 26 + 3x 27.5 dually and hardtails and different travel.
Also I have ridden 5 days a week for 30 years including commuting so stuff wears out .
I think overbiked refers to the gnarliness of the bike vs how technical the terrain is, not how many bikes you own?
