XT 8120 crankset with 11 speed drivetrain

I am looking to get a stages power meter but can only get this on an XT8120 crankset. The rest of the bike is XT8000 boost with a press fit bottom bracket.

Can I just swap over the XT8000 with the XT8120 and will the 11 speed chain be OK with the 12 speed gear?

Is there any aftermarket gears that I can fit to the 8120 cranks that will work better with the 11 speed chain?

Also what is the difference between XT8100 and XT8120?

Shimano make an 8100-8120-8130 cranksets. All with different chain lines. Eg 142,148,157 (standard, boost, superboost).
I haven't tried it but think it would play fair with 11 speed chain.
The 12 speed will have a different tooth profile but if 1x I would of thought it would be fine.
I'm sure someone here will chime in that has tried this.

Isn’t Stages single sided? Just pop the 8100 NDS crank with the PM on your 8000 crank.

Otherwise if you must have matchy matchy then yes what @Scotty675 said.

Can get direct mount chainrings from various aftermarket brands, Wolftooth is a favourite.

I thought for a minute you were quoting chainlines until I realised those were hub widths. Was about to ask some questions...

The difference is 3mm in chainline between XT8100 and XT8120.
As your bike is boost then the XT8120 is preferable.
I'm assuming you are going right side stages?
This is an option if you want to run an 11spd chain https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com...ngs-for-shimano-cranks?variant=32206864842787
