I found one of those guys today too!

It's the first one I've come across up here. It was a well-dur, why wouldn't they be here moment.
One of these rad beasts lives in the bushes near the dirt lumps at glenrock lagoon. Given how busy and rowdy that area gets I'm amazed it has stuck around. It is always a crowd pleaser when it emerges from the bushes.

Haha yeah man! I love them, still really novel seeing them having never seen one in the wild before moving to Melb. Lots around at the moment. Didn’t see @Chriso_29er ’s koala mate today though.
Heaps of stuff around at the moment, its great until the wriggly ones also come out haha.

Yeah this dude was chilling, keeping an eye on the JJ's action. Even escorted us up the climbing trail for a bit.

Rode Tathra on the weekend, a bunch of great trails in a compact area, and was really good to ride a coastal landscape. Even went faster up the gnarly climb than all my younger riding buddies, regular outings between the rain are paying off with bike fitness.

On the wildlife theme, I had a small roo about 2m in front of me on one of the trails, but it quickly moved aside after realising I was right there.

Kept it regular by getting out with @Litenbror on Sunday, we rode with a Sydney sider mate of @T-Rex, Stromlo still has a fair bit of water coming out of the hill in places.

taking a shit with my boobs out
Took #1 son and his big mate to Eagle MTB park yesterday afternoon to practice this weekends GESA runs.

35° and no wind, so gave them a lecture about water, made them drink a shit load before they left the car.... then my 1L bottle (didnt fit right) with 3 electrolyte tabs in it pops out of the cage on a rough section about 2km in and smashes the top off. All gone...

So now I am sharing a 750ml bottle with the king of skulling drinks. I could have ridden back for a spare but decided to see how we went.

Short vid shot as they rode lines and seshed a few obstacles.

Hahaha! Your creek gap is like almost everybody's creek gap - bone dry! Some nice riding in there and very rocky trails.
Exactly, I've never seen water in it in my life... its not even a water run off, just a jump over a rock garden :p

A nice little bit of work there at the old quarry. Have you found the building they've done a little further towards Geelong near the river?
I have not but keen to find them now. I have ridden some of the trails built around the river that can be found on trail forks

Post overload today.

Its warm again here today at around 36°, so went for a shady ride into the NP at about 4pm, came across this bloke looking a bit dazed.

He drank some but not like a usual thirsty Koala... maybe just old and tired.

I had only left the house about 15mins, that water bottle was half frozen from the freezer, would have been cool for him.

To roll the clock forward a bit, I got that itch.......you know, ........that one..........New Frame Day that is probably due to @beeb

I leapt at the chance of a frame upgrade on a run out 5010 v3 since a model change with a price cut will be as good as it gets. The newer ones are looking a bit too bike park for my lowly nancy skills. Mrs has been talking up an extra room house extension since January so was now or probably not at all. I'm fine to do a bit-sa and recycle whatever parts without getting hung up about it build, I'll figure it out.

Almost got one from Johnny Rockets at Toowoomba (which are a great shop) but was a matt black C and had to be stripped down. Purple funk had to be done. Lusty were about $1.6k more. I asked for a price match to something a bit sharper. Offered to take my money now or I'll just have to import direct and got the geo-blocking 'No, you can't do that' spiel so I took it as a worthy challenge and did it anyhow.

US purchased and shipped to a colleague in Boston who is also a bike nut and much to my surprise didn't swap it with a Giant Yukon. Booked BikeFlights to do the door to door delivery. No problems to report with shipping and took about a week in Covid times. Went really smoothly. Waiting for other small but showstopper parts of all sorts took ages.

Here it is plus a comparison of Ol' Yella the 1996 Heckler to 5010 v3 circa 2019 for a bit of SC trail bike geekery. Both are Large.
New school is long.
