This is why I carry HD cable-ties with me.
If I could get one of those wheely-bins free, they'd be attached to the passenger door handle...

Take photos be obnoxious, even open a door if you need to with your shirt over your hand. When they come over, say you have reported it as a stolen car due to the parking and making sure they didn't leave any evidence in the car.
