They're a nicer post to use that the One Up, but the service issue means I have 4 One Ups and only one Transfer.
I had a similar problem with mine and sent it to NSD for repair because of the special tools. It was $200 ish so not great value but it's a good post when it's working.
I'd just buy another One Up though, simple to fix

Actually, I just went through a similar with the XTR on my Bird. It would go up the cassette fine but only went down in 4s.
It was the big springamathing on the rear mech, just crusty AF. I wasn't game to remove it because of the inevitable kasproing and missing parts so just got a new one off...
