    Little Things You Hate

I don't watch commercial television, I don't really watch any TV series or movies. I just don't feel like it. Little thing I hate is I can tell I'm being judged in some social circles for not having watched X, or Y. I don't care...but apparently I'm meant to?

    Little Things You Hate

Feeds into the notion that we are consumers. If something breaks don't fix it...throw it in the bin and buy a new one. Finding a decent bike mechanic is a challenge. I have a mate who's running his own repair shop and he's flat out, and also can't find anyone to work for him.

    NZ - Queenstown

Cheers for the feedback that's awesome! I really want to make sure my ambition doesn't outweigh my talent and that completely makes sense re. Cardrona...might need to review that closely! I've only had a short stint in Skyline on a family holiday - loved it, so happy to spend more time in there...

    NZ - Queenstown

Looking into a gravity based riding trip in Queenstown for a few days, thinking:- - Skyline Bike Park (Gondola) - Coronet Peak/Rude Rock (Shuttle/Chairlift) - Cardrona (Chairlift) Does anyone have any specific recommendations? Am I missing something obvious?

Things you see on your daily commute - the weird, whacky, funny or downright disturbing.

I’d just like to point out this is a MTB forum, so they were giving you kind advice

Things you see on your daily commute - the weird, whacky, funny or downright disturbing.

I nicknamed my shoes “the faggots”, but as my friend pointed out maybe the shoes are wearing the faggot 🤣

Things you see on your daily commute - the weird, whacky, funny or downright disturbing.

I started going to the gym regularly which is a few minutes walk away from my house, and partly along one of Sydney’s major arterial roads. My wife bought me a pair of gym shoes to wear, a very white pair of Nikes. One night walking to the gym a car drives past and someone yells at me “nice...

What teams/riders will and wont be racing in 2025

I’m with Dozer - I’m not necessarily against making the World Cups strictly professional but I hope it’s made clear what the feeder/2nd tier series is and what is the pathway up! I get the feeling there’ll be a whole bunch of riders that will drop off World Cup, but will be committed to...

    The bike industry crisis

I know a guy who owns and operates a small bike repair business, what you said reminds me of what he told me last week. Customer comes in with a bike in pieces and components in boxes, said it's "almost built" and "won't take much work to complete", who should be the judge of that? He quoted...

    Bicycle service breakdown

Finding a reliable mechanic is tough! I had a good one but was let down by some sloppy workmanship - split pins were left out of brake pads and they fell out! Front and rear! 🤦🏻‍♂️

    The future of Slopestyle

Whilst I have massive respect for the riders, and what they do, they really have backed themselves into a corner. The options would be:- 1. Live with what you have, or 2. Breakaway and start their own series. The peak of slope style is crankworx whistler, how could you replicate that? I can’t...

    The future of Slopestyle

I feel like the riders don’t have a good read of the room, have a look at the bike industry as a whole - it’s in real trouble. But steep calling out for cash when there isn’t cash around.

Official Old Mans Valley MTB Park - Hornsby

Moo lives. Haven’t ridden it recently but I’ve heard it’s in good shape and riding well. Jubes has been rejigged and reshaped into a mini-jump park. Think mini Bare Creek. Can’t comment of Castle Hill.

That was tongue in cheek - I wasn’t serious about the weight loss! I was so dehydrated I was dreaming about drinking cold water haha!

Get the girls with our special weight-loss dieting techniques

Had a full week off the beers and am still going - actually went out to a few things (dinner at the pub and bday parties) and it actually didn’t bother me not drinking. I have dropped managed to drop a couple of KG’s but not as planned. My daughter brought home a gastro bug from daycare - boom...

Get the girls with our special weight-loss dieting techniques

Off the back of xmas/new year I have failed to stop the indulged eating and drinking - to the point I feel bloated. Also went riding with some fitter mates last week and got flogged. I did weigh myself on January 3rd and I was 78kg. The game plan is the following starting today:- - No more...

BIKE RACKS AND CARRIERS FOR CARS MEGATHREAD - all questions asked and answered here

Whilst I would've preferred to go the home made route I found this on ebay and purchased:- CURT Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin & Shim | eBay Works well. Pretty happy with it. Maybe I'm being really petty with eliminating bike rack movement but I've been following some cars down the freeway and the...

    Formula One world championship

Who will Jack Moir ride for and why are team changes announced so close to the season start

Hard to compare Gwin vs. Rennie/Kovarik. All notable riders but about 10-15 years apart in their professional careers and the sport has certainly come a long way professionally. Also Gwin benefits from living in a large population basin which would certainly help his marketability compared to...

Who will Jack Moir ride for and why are team changes announced so close to the season start

I’d be surprised if there were actually a salary as part of a sponsorship in MTB apart from a select few. I thought it would be gear and all expenses paid to go race and that’s about it. I was talking to a mate over a beer and he had a roadie acquaintance try go professional in Europe and he got...
