    The stupid questions thread.

I have 155mm cranks on my “enduro” bike (160/170 travel). They felt very weird at first but I got used to them quickly and obviously it helps with pedal clearance on the steep rocky climbs. Main plus is I feel more centred on the bike compared with 170s. I don’t think I’d want them on my...

    Tom Pidcock Drifting

Yes Primoz Roglic not exactly known for his bike handling (or should I say he loves crashing for no apparent reason)

    The stupid questions thread.

What part of NSW coast? According to BOM it’s basically summer tending or evenly spread throughout the year, and climate change means more summer tending I reckon. This mapping is very coarse though…

How stolen does this look, or a bargain and get on it.

Can you tell if it’s still available @shiny ? That’s the sort of price where I would be tempted to try out “high pivot wizardry”, even though it is made of plastic. I don’t have friendface, but if I know where it is, I should be able to get someone to help me track it down.

    Thredbo/Narooma/Eden Trip

Recommend camping at Ngarigo - even if you’re sleeping in your car, it’s a lovely spot and only 5 mins away. Costs $6 to book but otherwise free. https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/ngarigo-campground If full Thredbo Diggings is just down the road and...

    Women's safety

Lol the bit where you referred to “perverts waving their dicks around” Of course it matters if it was hypothetical - if it’s just a bunch of blokes worrying about their “missus”es on their behalf that’s quite different to you actually going into the ladies and doing the helicopter and thinking...

    Women's safety

@johnny forgive me if I’m missing some context here but was this person at the pool actually using the women’s change rooms, or is this just a hypothetical? I’m sure I don’t need to tell you this but just because they are wearing a dress doesn’t mean they identify as a woman. It’s just a dress...

    Canberra to Mogo

Yes that’s my main quibble with these new trails on the South Coast - total absence of technical climbing. Hopefully stage 2 at Mogo will have something, though I’ve heard rumours of big problems with the build over there…

    Canberra to Mogo

I presume the track down from Majors you rode is the old dirt road that was closed after the fires? Big effort, I have ridden Bungendore to Moruya plenty of times but never done the Wandera climb, nor have I done 60km of singletrack the day after… The coast road from Moruya to Batemans Bay isn’t...

Merida or a Polygon budget blaster?

My friend is on that Merida and I reckon it’s a great bike from the couple of spins I’ve had on it. Ridiculously good value

Help! New bike and I keep breaking rims

I’ve got a day at Mogo coming up on Tuesday, I promise I’ll stick to 28psi. Anyway glad to hear the group thinks it’s me or the rims and not the frame. Much cheaper.

Help! New bike and I keep breaking rims

So just to clarify, the consensus is that anyone heavier than 70kg running less than 28 psi in the rear can expect to destroy rims even if they are running DH casings and cushcore? Seems hyperbolic, but I will bow to the consensus if so.
