    Sorry

Thanks guys. Glad the pics provoked some discussion :) Bike was setup for me by Dave Shuttleworth when he was at Cycleworld, Burwood. Ridden like that for 3 years, it all works. Shutter was actuated wirelessly, with the unit on the hotshoe.

    Sorry

Used a Manfrotto Superclamp and the Canon 5D2. I'm actually travelling a lot slower than it looks, hence no brakes. About walking pace.

    Sorry

Went for my using training ride yesterday when I found out that the local orienteering club decided to hold their annual event at the same venue: Crusing along: Where did she come from? Sorry :o

Where's "slick rock" in relation to the blue trail? Is is part of the triple diamond trail?

    Mt Stromlo

Yep did it twice, and as mentioned, don't think I've ridden a better XC descent.

    NSW Castle Hill

I ride Fred Cat weekly (usually after I drop my daughter off at William Clarke). Here's the loop I do, and there are many other tracks I haven't mapped. I think it would make an excellent formal XC track if groomed a bit, and technically I feel it is comparable to the Ourimbah XC loop. The loop...

First pano was taken from A facing west. Second from B facing East towards the carpark (just right of centre).

    Mt Stromlo

Yep it was XC, green ascent, and blue descent. Fairly unlikely to do any damage if you're sensible about it. I did hit 55km/h on the descent though. I did a lap without the DSLR first before figuring it was safe to ride with the photo gear.

    Mt Stromlo

Rode Stromlo for the first time yesterday, what a great track! Just loved the ascent and I don't think I've ridden a better XC descent. I took my Canon 5D2, 24-105 and 70-200 f2.8 lens, in addition to all the usual MTB gear and 2.5 litres of fluid. The sight that greated me up top made it all...

    M7 Cycleway Riders? (Sydney)

Yeh, I do the entire return route every fortnight or so. Park at Fairmont Cres near the Norwest entrance. About 78km total. Easy way to get some training miles up without worrying about cars, and can do it in the evenings as the cycleway is lit for the most part.

    numb fingertips... why?

Not an uncommon problem in new roadies. Due to extension of the wrists while on the hoods and stretching of the median nerve that supplies the thumb, index and middle finger. Solution as above. Change positions frequently. An anatomic bar might help as does gel insert gloves.

    L'officiel Le Tour 2008 Thread!

Try this site. I'm in Vietnam at present and Eurosports streams the vision fine, but the sound is intermittent. Best compromise I find is Eurosports streaming and refreshing the cyclingnews live coverage on another TAB. http://www.cyclingfans.com/ http://live.cyclingnews.com/

Alpha Q fork meets brick wall

Surprisingly everything else looks OK, It was more a lateral hit than head on, so the fork snapped sideways.

Alpha Q fork meets brick wall

Here's what an Alpha Q GS10 fork looks like after meeting a brick wall at 45km/h. Lucky I had a helmet. Lost control trying to avoid a kid that popped out of nowhere on the road. Thankful for the assistance of the kid and his Dad.

    Road rage in Sydney

Cops know who he is, so I hope he's insured. Medical bills, expensive bikes destroyed, and it's not like there were no witnesses.

Road Riding Etiquette - Comments Welcome

I regularly ride a 80km route with 3 other riders. We try and maintain an average speed of 32kmh which is no problem as a group, and we all take turns leading. At the back of the group we are freewheeling a lot so we don't ram up the backside of the rider in front, while the lead rider is...

    52.8 km of cobblestones...

For a country where cycling is close to the No.1 sport, holding its premier 1 day race, it seems incredible they can't delay a freight train by a few hours. I understand though that if it did happen, that the riders would restart with the gaps/intervals in tact.

    52.8 km of cobblestones...

Go Stuey, riding with "1" on his back. Interesting to read he his rooming with Cancellara, who again is the CSC designated leader.
