Rebuild your current one. You wouldn't need much more than a socket set, torque wrench, an engine stand, silicon and a rebuild kit. Alternatively complete 22R Hiluxs are cheaper than 22R engines.

What big forks to hack for DJ bikes in 2025?

I have some coil Circus. I don't really love them for no specific reason. Then again they were only $50 Yeah that kind of thing. There's a Z1 Float for $499 that tickles my fancy.

DJ A $200 pumptrack bike, or why it pays to shop marketplace in upper middle class suburbs

Windermere, bottom of Cadburys hill. It's a pumptrack for ants next to a 'skatepark' for ants, but still fun. Buuuut, Bridgewater has a Velosolutions one, still small but much better flow. Keen to ride the full size Velosolutions one at Kingston.

What big forks to hack for DJ bikes in 2025?

First up, $1300 RRP for a Pike or Bomber DJ is ridiculous. Annually, at the minimum, you can purchase long travel 27.5 forks for $500-750 new or less as takeoffs, e.g. Z1, 36, Rev, Pike, Yari, Zeb. What are the best of the currentish crop of air spring trail forks to feasibly slam to 80-90mm...

DJ A $200 pumptrack bike, or why it pays to shop marketplace in upper middle class suburbs

For several years I've wanted to get myself onto a pumptrack bike, hovering over many an online shopping car but ultimately buying nothing. Among other things the ludicrous price of DJ forks has been a bone of contention. Lo and behold I spotted this on Marketplace for $400, then $300, then...

beautiful bikes - post them here

Come on, how much maintenance is a chain, really? And call me a Luddite but I'd prefer not to need a bespoke bike for my choice of transmission.

Cotic Solaris HT - C4. Steel is real & apparently really expensive

Rad! I have a Sol Max and I am rapt with it, I got it when they were running out the last Max frames (so had to settle for Hubble Purple). Seems the model update made things a little more fiddly, mine arrived with the headset fitted and they still had IS brake mount on the last Max version. I...

    That gay marriage thing........

The only two elements necessary for a marriage between two persons (of binary sex) are intention, and consent. Not procreation or any other guff that gets put out there. "Do you wanna?" "Yep" Job's on. I would say for the first circa twenty five years of my life I never once heard or read a...

    WTB old Saint shortcage derailleur

As the title says, I'm looking for an old Saint shortcage derailleur, one of the axle-mounted ones. Condition of the cage plates is the most important thing, I am raiding them to build a shortcage XTR derailleur.

    Lawn Mower Help

Plenty of time for servicing. My mum's self-propelled OHV Honda has been in our family since about 1988. Dad changed the oil in about 1999. Still going strong, though just starting to puff a hint of blue smoke on cold start or when you gas it up from idling for a long time. An accurate post...

Looks like the sram geo-block has reached germany.

Kind of surprising as SRAM have been one of the least conservative of the distributors. I mean look at Shimano, they just take the p!ss. Then again, that's like being one of the least conservative in the LNP right faction I suppose.

    SRAM drivetrain?

They've changed their distribution channel and model to make more money for SRAM and to support distributors to make more money for SRAM. Which, of course, is business. Vis a vis Nobody wins. Bet Shimano do it next. I notice even Paypal are being cagey about international peer to peer...

Well,or an early Pantera AL...but, the flat end cap with the CNC brace and V-brake cable stop are a give away of a late-model, USA built Zaskar.
