Certainly surprised me. I’d heard they were playing some festival gigs but that’s about it

    Warburton trail updates

I went out for look this morning, shuttle assisted. Haven’t really ridden stuff like it other than the bottom half of Cascades. Fun, long descents, once I got my head in the game. Didn’t wait more than a couple of minutes for an uplift. All worked really well for day 2. Most people seemed to...

Meh, people doing people things. The young fella is back on the bike and more stoked than I’ve been in years

Yes and yes. Good result in the end, however messy the process was.

All 3rd hand but the wrap is, the nephew went back to the shop they purchased from with mum in tow. Mechanic had a look and gave them a serve about not looking after the bike properly but sent details off to sram. Very uncomfortable experience from what I understand but warranty cassette is now...

    The stupid questions thread.

Hadn’t considered that someone like Spec could mismatch chain and cassette. Haven’t had the slightest interest in anything they’ve done since the first p3 but you’d assume they’re capable of nailing this

Yeah I’ve never seen anything like it. Seems I’m not the only one. I suggested his folks take it back to the shop for a chat, see how it goes

My money is on an impact. Would I have realised I’d cracked a cog after doing something dumb at that age, nah. Will have a closer look at the fractures on either end, likely tells a story even for my non engineer brain. So, definitely nothing to do with him getting really good at wheelies and...

    The stupid questions thread.

A mate’s nephew has been getting into riding and got a Chisel for Christmas, first bike thing seems to have been taken up a notch. We’ve been doing a few Lysty laps with him, easing into it if you like, and he’s full of enthusiasm and pretty quick. Apparently in between he’s chucking all the...

Project Need to get a short travel Trail/Down country bike - Help me decide

The Au distributor is not interested in selling a frame to the likes of us, in my experience. If you can get a good deal on a 21-24 (previous model, price should reflect this) go for it, mine has been really fun. Warranty should be 5 years and just keep a close eye on the bearings

    Newly Released Bikes General

The whole bike industry seems to be telling me it’s time to replace the Element. Being this skint atm they’ll never get a buck out of me, take that suckers

Project Need to get a short travel Trail/Down country bike - Help me decide

If you’re looking at the Element make sure you get the 2025 update. The 22+ version has tiny bearings pressed in to the carbon seatstay, while the updated one moves them to the metal link. I believe they went bigger on the MP too. Should be considerably better maintenance wise. Mine has been a...
