Well that escalated. Nods of approval.

Excuse my ignorance, but does that make it more or less likely to be a scam?

Anyone heard of this place? Their DT Swiss prices seem too good to be true? https://www.wheel-parts.shop/en/hubs/dt-swiss-hubs/

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

So my brake lever has been leaking for the last month or so. I contacted Trickstuff and they told me which seal kit to order to replace all the seals. Unfortunately, I took apart the lever today and found this. Turns out the seals looks okay, but some dirt has managed to get into the cylinder...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

I managed to get a photo with good lighting. It is definitely just a flesh wound and is clearly healing up nicely.

What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Solid day out yesterday. Jumped a snake on my first lap and was running low on brake fluid by my last lap thanks to a leaky seal. Great day!

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

There have been some very cool bikes getting released in the last week. The Pivot Mach 4 SL, Ibis Ripley SL and the updated Transition Spur all look like my jam. I spent the day doing 8 runs at Maydena which was a nice way to bring up 1000km since finding the suspicious "crack" in the rear...

    Sealant thoughts

I've always run Stan's in the past and I'm familiar with the old Stan's meteorite that forms after a period of neglect. The LBS convinced me to try Orange Seal and when I was fixing a flat today I instead found a creepy spider web situation. Is this normal for Orange Seal? It didn't seal the...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

This is a pretty standard loop I ride 3-4 times per week. My experience of other riders around the SoHo area is that they consist of 15yo kids smashing laps on ebikes I couldn't afford, or 50yo kids on ebikes smashing more beers than I could afford at the pub at the bottom. I'm not convinced I'd...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

Ooooo that is interesting. I loved my SB100, maybe I could negotiate an updated SB120 warranty replacement.

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

I think I have a warped perception because everyone I know with a trail bike rides it once a fortnight max...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

Yeah, Devlin was my first thought. Especially dangerous given they are in Tassie so I could check out the build process. The one that just won Vital Bike of the Day looks like my jam. Regarding the trail bike question. In January I have ridden 500km on dirt with 13,000m of climbing. Are people...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

Well Wally watchers, I have a plan. I've put 500km on it since I posted the photo and it looks pretty similar so I'm going to keep riding it. If it gets worse and Yeti send me a fresh frame then I'll build up a new Yeti. However, if they decide to only send a rear swing arm it might be time...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

Hmmmm. I turned the bike upside down today to take the back wheel off and this caught the sunlight. It is at the distal end of the seat stay at the junction between the part that is supposed to flex and a more rigid area where the caliper bolts on. I'll keep riding it and see what happens, but...

The "I will ride _____km in 2025" thread - commit and conquer here!!

Just hit my goal for the year. I was actually aiming for 100,000m of vertical which happened to correlate nicely with 5000km. Much easier cruise to the finish line than last years kilometer harvesting in December.... I'm going for 4000km next year. I've just booked an overseas trip which will...

Oops!...I Did It Again. Yeti ASR

I watched that video and it aligns with my experience. I think if you beef up a XC bike and you expect it to climb really well and descend surprisingly well then you would be happy following this path. However, if you expect it to descend like an all mountain bike then I think you would be...

What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Took my XC bike to Maydena for the day. 8 runs of blue/black, 54km of descending with 5600m vertical. Solid day out!

    Confessions from the fuckwits

I just pressed out a frame bearing only for the bearing to fall to pieces leaving the outer race basically welded from Tassie weather to the bearing housing. There wasn't enough flat surface to get purchase for a bearing extractor, so I had to use a Dremel to put a split in the outer race to get...

Newly Released Suspension & Components General

New XTR looks basically as expected, although I'm not a fan of the big logo on the cranks. My bike will stay mechanical, so I'm pleased the new bits like the cassette will be compatible with 9100.
