I'm guilty of over servicing my bike. Why ? Because working on my bikes & getting them just right is almost as much fun as riding them. Plus the ride is never interrupted by a mechanical, other then the odd stack or 2. My 2021 Optic will get its 3rd full service this December, suspension pivots...

This, I've a 2021 Optic, but with a Cascade link its 130mm rear, still 140mm front. Bit porkier though, but then so am I.

Road again, dark (5am) heavy rain & strong winds & 30km. Complete crap, I've no idea how roadies do it all the time ! SE Qld is as wet as a shag at the moment.

I run a Lyzene 1600 on the bars & a clean skin helmet light from MTBD that's supposed to be a 1000 lumens , more like 700. All up around $350 a couple of years ago. The Lyzene lasts about 70min at full beam, the little clean skin about 2hours. Good enough for me

Anybody tried the Patagonia Dirt Crusher shorts ? Dear as poison, but there are said to last for years. I've had a couple of pairs of Ground Effects shorts, c/w a liner for around 10 years. The liner died about 6 years ago, so I wear them over bibs. One pair finally split, so I replaced them...

Rode at 5am at Iron Bark, northside of Brisbane. Saw 6 riders, now its getting crowded !

Riding around the Brisbane tracks, Iron Bark, Daisey Hill & the Jinker Track. I usually ride before work, around 5am, finish 6.30 & I'm always surprised that I usually see no other riders. Maybe riding in the dark isn't a thing anymore. Is it the same down south ?
