Very cool! there is a guy putting the same engine with twin td06s i believe, into a gen 3 liberty. He has build threads on rexnet, subyclub, and others as well I think. One day I want to do something similar: big engine into understated car... One day...
Edit...
Nice! I have the A5's and I'm very happy with them. Thinking about getting a matching audioengine sub as well. (I also upgraded from logitech 2.1s haha)
Not even close imo. Granted, I've only had HasMis kebabs in the early hours of the morning so I'm not sure if they stop trying haha. Kismet in Manuka is not too bad either but nothing tops Yarralumla for me! Great pides as well
What leitch said. The golf is FWD until it detects slip and transfers some power to the rear. It's much better in the R than the old R32s apparently, but it's still a reactive system. I believe the B4 has a standard 50-50 torque split, but the viscous coupling can transfer up to 80% of drive to...
Cheers for that! I'm on club liberty but not ozlib yet. I will definitely be doing some mods when i get a bit more cash but for now I'm just enjoying forced induction :very_drunk::very_drunk:
Thanks for the info! I'd already planned to go and have a look at that one, assuming its a quality swap and not a backyard job. Finding insurance for an STi-swapped B4 as a 19 year old though... :highly_amused:
From what I can gather, the pinging is because the engine is designed for 100RON Japanese fuel.
As for the valley of death, I would eventually get round to a few bolt-ons and a tune to minimise that.
I could just go for a GC8 wrx or sti but the nicer interior appeals to me.
But overall...
My current car should be sold by tomorrow and I'm in the market for a replacement. I'm after a 4 seater with some grunt, thinking about a Subaru B4. Has anyone got any experience with them/other suggestions? Budget is $13-$15k.
