Shimano power still a good option?

Ep8 and ep801s are both great - assuming the motor rattle doesnt bother you. Bought a gen5 bosch purely to be rid of that after 4 yrs on Shimano motors 😆

Newly Released eBikes and eComponents General

Thats why I meant sorry. $8k and $13k is too big of a gap. There should be one thats around $10k and doesnt need immediate upgrades but is still value (13k price youd go another brand)

Newly Released eBikes and eComponents General

Looks good - just a shame theres not a proper specd version between the two. Perf elite suspension / no axs dropper etc. as the 8k one is a bit lacking Will be swapping the vala out for a dji once they release a new version with no rattle

If DJI solve the rattle itll be my next bike (happy with quiet Gen 5 Bosch otherwise)

    What mode is your go-to?

Pedalling hard AF on trail is for fitness. Eco is for the tip 😆

    RedBull Rampage

In saying the above - what an absolute mental event its become. Absolute respect to all the riders tackling it and pushing progression completely at their own risk / enjoyment given fk all $ involved

    RedBull Rampage

The tricky bit is that the riders are responsible for the direction Rampage has headed. 360s and tailwhips onto narrow exposed landings and double backflips off flat drops are just dumb. Without Redbull the sport would be dead and these guys would not be being paid to do what they love...

    RedBull Rampage

Not sure why people are blaming Redbull. The current level of risk is entirely driven by the riders pushing boundaries and progression (which is sick). In saying that, maybe they need to put rules in place to prevent riders sharing lines (which may require smaller start list). Its a big part...

    The Brig

I considered buying a Vivid Air from them for the Vala as was having an issue with the Float X. They said Rockshox would warrant it locally

    The Brig

So quick update on the wheels; Tyres mounted up nicely. Only needed a track pump to seat, no need for a lever to get the tyre on (but pretty tight - reasuringly so) and held air perfectly overnight. Hubs are nice. I dig the centrelock to 6 bolt adapters. Much smoother rolling than the crappy...

    The Brig

*shrug* its mostly stock - just carbon bars, wheels and the new kiox screen. Doesn't feel PYR worthy. Decided im not a fan of the radial Schwalbes so looking forward to bring back on DDs. Radials are finicky on perfect pressures - super draggy and rim ding prone if even slightly lower than ideal

    The Brig

Wheels arrived at long last. They took longer than expected to resolve strength testing of the layup for the 27.5. In fairness to them they kept me updated and included valves, grips, tape and airfreighted my rim earlier than the main batch of 27.5s (which I'd expect should follow by boat in a...

    Warburton trail updates

Thats a good crack from the young lass! Think I might have passed you mid arvo at the trail map sign on the upper half of uptown. From the description i'd say you were on lap 2! Think both my young lads will be on e's around that age so we can punch out more laps (currently 1 and 3yo) - the...

    Warburton trail updates

Obviously not saying they should have catered just to ebikes but a slightly steeper gradient with less switchbacks would be easier even without the motor. There were plenty of switchbacks that were pretty much level with the one above it. Saw plenty of people cutting up them - mostly people...

    Warburton trail updates

The climb length is mental. Way way too many switchbacks. Was a bit boring even crusing up on the ebike (38mins up). Would be no good without the motor. Black and blue descents were solid though. Looking forward to the next batch

    The Brig

FYI as havent forgotten - still havent received these. They're still working on the 27.5 layup

    Bargain buys thread

If it was the $2500 i'd grab it for the odd circumstance im not on the Vala lol. Need to budget $300 for a Charger 3 damper upgrade imo...
