    20mm Thru-axle + peg.

goto your nearest machine shop, get them to machine a bit of 4130 or something down to 20mm, and then cut whatever size threads you want on either end to suit the pegs. so you end up with a bit of 20mm bar that is stepped down to say 14 or 12mm at each end.

    Post Counts

Yeah but it's still better than the current situation. At the moment we have to sit here and wade through 100% of posts just to find the crap, let alone get rid of it. It's all too easy as a moderator to miss entire threads, simply cause they don't really interest you, because it's still a...

    Post Counts

I've observed that most of the people who post crap, are too lazy to write more than a single sentence at a time. Whereas people with a more thoughtout view, tend to write a more considered, longer response, rather then replying 10 times to 1 post. Having noticed this, i would be interested...

G- Boxxes - The future of MTB gearing?

You can do variable length drive shafts quite easily, with a 2 piece splined shaft. But it would be heavier than a hollow 1 piece shaft. Whilst a gearbox may be heavier than a normal rear hub + cassette + derailleur, all that weight will be sprung weight, rather than unsprung weight, which...

Is single pivot the way of the future?

I agree that there is a definate lack of expertise with shock and suspensiont tuning in general in MTB. I think what would have really advanced MTB suspension a lot further, was the old cannondale DH bike, the one with electronically controlled dampening, and *DATALOGGING*. As you...

Is single pivot the way of the future?

I would disagree with that last part, modern DH bikes such as say a V10, have the same amount of travel as an XR250, and with 18" wheels, the XR should be affected more by smaller bumps. couldn't agree more. I think people get way too worked up about axle paths, peoples forks have huge...

Is single pivot the way of the future?

Back to the moto topic, every moto i've ever seen, from from FMX to MotoGP, use a single pivot swingarm (their may be some weird arse exceptios to this rule). From what i've seen, the main purpose of any of the "actuation" links they run, is simply to improve the packaging of the shock within...
