Um - was some time ago now, but Nikon D3, single manual-set on-camera flash (Nikon SB800) set to (probably) 1/2 power, manual exposure (guessing about 1/1000, f/4) and FP synch. The 'trick' (I don't know 'tricks' - just read Strobist blog) is to balance ambient with flash to get softish...

heh - even a rather large CycleNews-type service had a similar error - for about 10 minutes Chris J's pic carried Jason's name - was fixed before our very eyes (still has the wrong date though "Mt Stromlo, ACT, October 13 - 14, 2007" - meh!).
