Strava is a gold mine for linking up trail. You can construct some really cool loops out of bits and pieces of other peoples rides.

    2013 Tour Divide

Stuff is going to get really smell, that's the deal. Baby wipes can only do so much. Interestingly, I found on AZT that my gear actually smelt pretty good after 3 days in the same knicks. I can make a pair of knicks toxic in a few hours in Oz but due to the ridiculously low humidity over...

Carbon Hardtail as a touring bicycle?? I've heard its not a viable option but...

A hell of a lot of carbon hardtails have made it from Banff to Antelope Wells in the Tour Divide in one piece. The style of riding they do in that race sounds much like what you are shooting for. Run what you brung and see what happens, that is part of the adventure ;)

    Fat Bikes

I've never had a penetrating puncture but i've pinch flatted lots and lots. Mostly because I'm playing in rocks with about 3 psi in the tyres. If I pump the tyres up a bit, then all is fine. Rotating mass just isn't an issue - they are called a fat bike. If any bike is allowed to be...

    So.... Spot's

The overal transmission rate seems to be pretty average in my experience if there is any hint of tree cover. So verifying route adherence via spot data isn't very accurate. In some instances, riders would be hours between spot updates on the HuRT when in theory, it should be every 10 minutes...

    Led light guru's,nerds and genius's

From what I can determine, the Hope vision 4's used 7.4 v batteries. A li-ion 7.4v (nominal) battery hot off the charge will read about 8.4v. So I'm thinking the packs you have now are actually 7.4 volts and exactly what you want and it is just going to be a plug swap. You can get 8.4v...

Here were a couple of options I was browsing through the other day and thought were noteable - as much because of the price as the weight. http://pedalhead.net/2011/08/19/nemo-gogo-elite-bivy-initial-thoughts/ http://www.backpackinglight.com.au/prod860.htm
