We put our eucalyptus leaf fall (we don't have any deciduous trees) into either rounds made of fence netting or a one of a few dedicated compost bays. After a year and some occasional turning... excellent soil improver and not so much potential fire carrying leaf litter.

Actually...I don't see a problem if compliance and enforcement says thou shalt not exceed 25 km/h without pedalling like your life depended on it.
Same thing happened to us...so we a simple right angle flashing fitted from the outside, slid behind the sheet and riveted it to the corro. About 50 metres of it was tedious but worth it.
I have some very old and somewhat rusty mechanical chain kicking back in the dry dump on some random agricultural equipment...I could use that for practise before going hammer and tongs on the precision gear. Maybe in twenty years when I'm even older and more worn out...😂
