Shipping bikes - seller won't box it up

Nah, the seller's cool. I just don't think he'd thought through the logistics when he said he was able to have it couriered. Partly my bad for not confirming before bidding. Anyway, all sorted through 99 Bikes in Tweed Heads. Gunna cost me more than I would have liked but it's all good.

Shipping bikes - seller won't box it up

Thanks safreek, appreciate the very generous offer. I think I'll give the bike shop route a go to start with.

Shipping bikes - seller won't box it up

I've bought a second-hand bike on eBay and despite saying it could be picked up by a courier the seller is not willing to box it up for shipping. Has anyone had any experience with having shipping companies package bikes for delivery? Any recommendations on a company before I start...

    Strava drops Bluetooth support

These sorts of decisions are rarely about arsed/can't be arsed. If they've got decent product management it'll be a completely rational decision based on the number of users affected vs. the resources available to resolve it (and continue supporting it). If they've only got a very small...

RS 32mm Solo Air Servicing - Which o-ring in negative air piston?

On the basis of that I went back and measured all the old o-ring's I'd removed and there's a ~3mm one there that's not in the service kit (the thinner one is 2.something and the thicker one is 3.5mm), so I either I've lost one or Nambra's right and the forks came with a ring that's not in...

RS 32mm Solo Air Servicing - Which o-ring in negative air piston?

Thanks, really appreciate that! I did have a go at using a couple of online calculators myself but didn't manage to find one that would directly recommend an o-ring based on the data I had. There is a small chamfer on the lip (and yes both surfaces are well lubricated).

RS 32mm Solo Air Servicing - Which o-ring in negative air piston?

Thanks guys, glad I'm not the only one to have run into this. The relevant dimensions are: Piston OD: 27.5mm Piston OD inside the o-ring groove: 22.5mm O-ring groove width: 3.3mm Upper bore: 27.6mm (may be a bit off since I had to take OD less wall thickness because there's a step on the...

RS 32mm Solo Air Servicing - Which o-ring in negative air piston?

Did an air spring service on my Recon Gold last week and lost track of which o-ring I removed from the bottom of the negative air piston. There are two o-rings in the service kit of the same diameter but different thickness that would fit but if I install the thinner of the two it seems like...

Bush Camping - Bright, Mt Beauty, Falls Creek area

Thanks 101. I didn't realise you could camp at Rocky Valley - that looks like a good option. Seems there's a bit of a walk to get into Langford Hut?

Bush Camping - Bright, Mt Beauty, Falls Creek area

Doing a bit of a solo road trip to Victoria over Easter since the rest of the family's going to be overseas. Can anyone recommend bush camping sites in the area around Bright, Mt Beauty or Falls Creek? Thinking I'll probably pop the tent up in one spot for a few days then hit a few different...

    Sources for Shimano Small Parts

Ahah, they actually have reasonable delivery charges unlike the couple of other UK joints that showed up in my searches. Thanks! No joy with Moruya but I will keep them in mind for the future, their collection of derailleur hangers is epic.

    Sources for Shimano Small Parts

Recently broke the small alloy I-Spec II bracket on a shifter and ended up buying a complete new shifter because I couldn't source the bracket at reasonable cost/within a reasonable time frame. I've now lost the bottom cover to my LH SLX shifter (MPN: Y06N98020, ref...

    What do your kids ride?

Have a look at the Vitus bikes from CRC. Proper geometry and decently light. My four year old was happily doing skids with the V-brakes on his.
