This was a great find, in amazing condition. I had a Repco Sierra in 1990, given to me (with a contribution from my own money) for my 18th birthday. If this was available at the LBS for the same price I would have chosen it, I was a huge fan of gaudy colours right through the 80's, and pretty much still am to this day. It has a slightly better spec than the Sierra, roughly the same as the High Sierra.

I spent many hours cleaning it and getting the wheel bearings and bottom bracket sorted for riding. It rides pretty good, and today was the first off road ride I've done on a full rigid bike since 1994. Running all original except saddle and tyres. Was an absolute buzz riding it today.

Go the purple anno bottle cage. It matches with the art deco paint job.
Going fully rigid really will make you appreciate newer bikes but it is nice to ride something simpler too.

Who really needs a Bronson ..........

Indeedy, see my post in what did you do today :)

Very tidy, bet it felt nippy on the climbs!
It's a tad heavier than the Bronson but the acceleration was insane, especially on the flats and mellow climbs.

I met the former owners today, they are a retired couple, Mike and Florence. They are downsizing which is why they left the bike out the front with a cardboard sign that said free bike. I took them a jar of honey, my wife sells really nice honey at the local farmers market.

They were very happy that I paid them a visit and rode the bike over to show them, and that through pure coincidence I found it. Mike was amazed how well it came up, he used to ride it about 1.5 km each way to work. I would never have driven past it except that roadworks made me detour that way. It made everyone's day, and Florence loves honey on her toast :)
