Helpers

Can members please let us know of any date clashes that I need to worry about please?
Please give some serious thought to organising a race. It's not rocket science and you wont stuff up, as you'll get plenty of help. Remember, NO DIRECTORS = NO RACES!

Organising a race is a great experience and we can't keep calling on the same couple of willing workers. Race directors score 80 points (same as winning) for their event. Rostered helpers score 65 points (equal to 2nd place).

Helpers Roster

The Helper's Roster has different club members assigned to help at each club cross country race. The race director will contact you in the week before the race to confirm your assistance with the race. If you are listed as a helper, but know you won't be free on the day of the race please let us know well in advance and a swap can be arranged. If you would like to substitute someone else to help in your place (i.e: a friend, parent etc.) that is fine. The jobs that need to be done for the race include:

* Course setting and course and equipment pack up
* Competitor registration
* Starting races and timekeeping

Thank you to all helpers, who have helped with the running of events over the last few seasons. For more information please contact Paul Cole: xc@corc.asn.au or 6297-3153 (h)

Helpers for course pack up

Don't forget that if you are on the helper's roster and you do not help with timing, then you need to make yourself available to help with registration and especially with course pack at the conclusion of the race.

After each race, the course markers need to be taken down and packed up. Four riders working in two teams can pack away the course in about the same time as a race lap, by each team doing half of the loop. So it's not an onerous task, and won't take a lot of your time.

so, i'll see you there!
