Combined High Schools and Combined Private Schools?Thanks for that. It is good to see that we wont be racing at Pacific Park every other race. Does anyone know where the new tracks at Galstone, Trike and Comleroy Sforest are? Also what are the NSW CHS & CPS C'Ships?

Hi Nick,Can I please have some more information on the school sport of the calendar? Eg: How to sign up and other general things to it.

A short note explaining some of the WSMTB 2007 Calendar.
NSW.
Public Schools. A submission will be made to the Combined High Schools Sports Board to run a mountain bike competition in 2007, this will consist of regional competition run by the regions and finally a championship which is listed on the web site. At school level this will be mainly XC and teams XC with a free ride component, each region will send the winners to the championship. Schools participating will most probably run the XC on the cross country running course and the region will help them run and design a free ride. DH will only be at Regional and Championship level.
Private Schools. A Saturday based competition is planned in MTNX and teams XC for school sport, if non private school or individual participation is allowed this will be known before the competition begins. The Saturday sport is shared around the Sydney based clubs. Barker and St Ignatius are currently enquiring about participation.
Western Sydney Mountain Bike Club Inc.
Galstone is a track built by a club member on church land. The club member is asking permission from the respective church group to use the track in 2007, thus the date is later in the year. It will be closed outside club days at this stage for insurance reasons. This will most probably be a good club track but not a state level track due to transport.
Comleroy State Forest, in 2006 WSMTB put an application to build a series of tracks in Comleroy State Forest of the Putty Road at Colo. State Forest have indicated a license will be granted to WSMTB to use the area, again this is towards the end of the year when the first club track should be built. This will be only a club track due to transport which is a steep fire trail and parking.
Trike is a name I have given to the interclub competition between CCOMTB, Hunter and WSMTB this may well not be the final name. Just as WSMTB Lithgow and CCOMTB have had joint club days this is a club competition between the clubs, which we ride at the other clubs track and accumulate points in a competition between clubs. We are still working out the details but have started to make the dates for the competition.
