SRAM Singletrack Mind Series - Bigger and Better in 2011

Following the success of the inaugural SRAM Singletrack Mind Series, event organiser Chocolate Foot has expanded the series to 6 rounds in 2011. With the ongoing support of the world’s most innovative component manufacturer SRAM, the series will continue to offer excellent prizes and prize money while also offering riders the opportunity to race on the best singletrack in NSW and the ACT.

Each venue has been carefully selected for its great trails, supportive hosting mountain bike clubs and landowners, and the ability to provide everything that riders desire at premium events such as these.

17/04/11 - Awaba State Forest – Newcastle
29/05/11 - Coondoo Road – Nowra
26/06/11 - Stromlo Forest Park – Canberra
21/08/11 - Wingello State Forest – Southern Highlands of NSW
18/09/11 - Mount Annan Botanic Garden – Sydney
23/10/11 - Lidsdale State Forest – Lithgow

For 2011, the series visits a mix of classic courses, such as the legendary Coondoo Road in the Shoalhaven and some new venues such as the professionally designed and built trail at the Mount Annan Botanic Garden in south west Sydney. Mount Annan currently has two of its three-stage development completed but by the event date of 18 September 2011 they plan to have Stage Three ready to race! In addition there will be a pump track competition and to cap it off there will be Camden Festival’s 'Cinema Under the Stars' the evening before race day!

The series has also enjoyed ongoing support from many other sponsors including Lezyne accessories, Hammer Nutrition, Nzo clothing, Muc-Off cleaners and lubes, Kenda tyres, The Body Mechanic, Mountain Bike Australia magazine as well as the great support from SRAM, RockShox, Avid and Truvativ. Castech Sports Technology were instrumental to the successful running of the series in 2010 and they will be providing their state of the art, live to the web timing services again in 2011.

Entries will open in January for the entire series and will host a wide range of categories to suit the avid racer right through to fun team categories for the weekend warrior, junior rider, and novice enduro competitor.

looks awesome. after a few quiet years we're now well and truly spoilt for choice for enduro racing in nsw. no 8hr at yarramundi this year makes me a sad panda, but i understand why :(

If I may make an observation/suggestion.

The Mt Annan round is on the same weekend as the Rocky Trail GP round is at Stromlo. The preceding weekend is free of any Endurance racing - perhaps the two promoters could cut a deal so the not insignificant number of people attempting to do both won't suffer (pretty please with a gel on top?)

Cheers,

Andrew

P.S. I'll post the same message in the RTE GP thread - time to get talking guys/girls!

Meh, is the venue free? Are the promoters free (Rock Trail are also busy doing Down Hill and 4 Cross, Chocolate Foot have skills weekends and other stuff on). Are people really going to do a long distance event every weekend in a month?

It's hard to find any weekend there isn't a "clash" on. It's a damn popular sport and the number of options available for racing reflect this.

To be really pedantic... the Canberra 24 solo race (which may or may not be the national championships) is (allegedly) on the next weekend...

Is Easter in September this year?

I'm not criticising - obviously clashes are inevitable, I just thought I'd raise the point because the Chocolate Foot and Rocky Trail series' probably have a fairly significant overlap in clientelle, which perhaps doesnt exist between a 100km race several hours out of Sydney and an CF/RTE enduro which is relatively close to home... like I said, just an observation

Anyone fancy a RockShox SID XX fork?

Hey y'all,

A huge thanks to all the people who have already entered, round 1 on April 17 at Awaba is looking to be a great start to the 2011 series.

If you need any more encouragement to sign up, our excellent friends at Monza and Rockshox have given us a SID XX fork to give away at the conclusion of the event to one of our lucky competitors. That's over $1100 worth of blingly white suspension perfection! And that's just the tip of the iceberg for the great prizes we have in store for for you this year!

And just a reminder that not procrastinating will save you $5 if you enter round 1 before midnight on Sunday 10 April, so get your team organised and prepare for a great day out on the bike!

Entries for round 1 close Wednesday night

Just a quick reminder that entries close at midnight on Wednesday for round 1 at Awaba!

Should you require anymore incentive to come, we have more prize money this year and we have a children's entertainer coming to help our 'coupled and kidded' racers out as well!

Everything you need to have a great day out will be there, food, water, COFFEE and clean loos! We look forward to catching up again with our riders from last year and meeting all the new ones!

Cheers, Joe.
