2013/2014 National Series

Would assume they'd have put a round in Cairns as a warm up/trial run for the WC, considering Thredbo is doing it's own festival maybe it's not interested in a national round this time so it could happen?
 
Nah apparently the track won't be ready until a few weeks before the wc so national series is out.
 
According to http://mtb.subaru.com.au/national-series/round-3a/ the third round of the DH will be at Thredbo on 21-23 Feb with XC being held at Echuca, Moama, Vic on 1-2 March.

Not sure how long ago this was decided but there doesn't seem to have been any sort of formal announcement (unless I missed it). Plus the first round is just over a month away and still entry's aren't open. The Schedule seems pretty brief compared to previous years too. What is happening to our national series???

Think you will find that the situation in the CA offices are not that productive at the moment.

Yes this was a month ago, but there is a lot to sort out across a lot of levels.

As I said, a lot to sort out......

I don't expect this to suddenly give us a great series for the upcoming season. CA have walked away as they have realised there is not a lot of money to be made, and with such a short lead time it will be interesting to see how the sponsorship side of things pans out which will affect the delivery quality of the events.

Not a great outlook for those looking to make use of UCI points with an entry in Cairns.
 
CA haven't given MTBA a lot of time to sort the mess out before the first round and get themselves ready.
