Cathro talked to him about this very thing after practice...even Borat was iffy on how much he could get away with jumping over the pole.
I’d say he pretty much tested the boundaries.

I have it on authority, from a local Commissaire, that as long as your tyres don't touch the ground outside the tape, it's not a problem.
