Test riding a light hard tail Wednesday to see if it will do what I want in regards to gravel.
If that doesn't prove to be what I want, will give you a yell.
One more thing, the roadie part of me coming out here, have you weighed it?

I would be looking to put bigger tyres on eventually. Does it look like it would take 45 mm?

I've never weighed it. Can try and find a luggage scale if you are really interested.
Looks like I also lied. Apon inspection the tyres are actually 40's, not 38's like I thought. 40 is what Norco says is the Max width. But theres still loads of room left so could possibly fit

@treble An approximate weight would be good.
Doing the hard tail test as my LBS owner is trying to convince me a light hard tail is good as a gravel bike, but not so sure. Taking his bike for a spin on some local gravel roads to try it out. But the price has me on difficult ground with the other half.
Anyway, I would be keen to come and have a look on Saturday afternoon if that suits? Can take to PM to sort details out if you are OK with that.
