2x and 3x front derailleurs

Wasn't asking to be banned
Is there any reason a 3x front derailleur (I'm sure there are some people left on this forum who remember those things!) wouldn't work with a 2x crankset?

The cages look to be a little bit longer (on the 3x) to suit the larger front chainring spread. Is there anything else that is different that would hamper the shifting?

Maybe alighment but you wouldn't think so. Test and see?

The Duckmeister

Has a juicy midrange
Inner cage plate of a 3x FD is deeper and more convoluted than a 2x, so tuning can be a bit messy, but not impossible.

Ultra Lord

Hurts. Requires Money. And is nerdy.
I still have nightmares from my days as a young teen working in bikeshops trying to tune FD's. Steep learning curve.
