A brief history of my time.

As promised in my newbie thread, here is the pictorial of the last 12 months of bike ownership.
We'll start with my first serious (for me) mountain bike, the Polygon AX3. Such a sweet bike and very hard to let go.

After the Stonefly episode, a 29er, not a fitness regime, was seen as the answer. Along came the Focus. Added some Crossmax and a XX crank if for nothing else but prestige, it became quite a nice light bike to ride.

After the Epic episode, Ive decided that rear suspension is the key. So after much thought, this is what I came up with. I know the gear and brake lines need cleaning up and the steerer tube needs more cut off (first time i've cut one of those bad boys, pretty scary gig) but so far pretty happy. Hitting Buller Feb 7 so Í'll add a ride report then. BTW, wont be running the XX cranks, waiting delivery of some X1 1400 cranks.

While not my style of riding, the green on your new rig is a mad color! Enjoy.

Hit up Buller today.
Started the day with a run down Gang gangs then onto Dalatite. Bike felt pretty good although I think I've got a bit of work to do sorting out this suspension, especially the Pikes. I also missed the big ring of the 2 x XX cranks, with the 32 tooth I found myself spinning like a mofo!
Klingsporn next and it was ugly! Over the bars not once, not twice but three times. This was due to a combination of no brake feel due to Carpel tunnel syndrome and me being an over exuberant wally. Rode into Merimbah with a few scratches on the arms and legs and a pretty sore thumb but still ready for more.
Next stop TBJ for the Epic decent.
My only issue with this ride is the filthy climb to the top. No bike it seems can over come my grose lack of fitness. After much puffing and panting (and a little pushing) I arrived at the "enjoy" log. A quick breather and I'm off, snap, chain breaks. Doh! All this way. Was the god of 26er wheels pissed at my purchase?
No, it was a blessing, I just rode the best pump track ever. Awesome! Wouldn't have been much quicker on the peddles. Pumped it all the way to the bottom then had a brother biker give me a chop out fixing the chain. I honestly am still to meet an arsehole on the trails. Mountain biking seem to bring out the best in people.
Smashed out the rest of the Epic then decided to come home due to being absolutely rooted. Was planning on another Dalatite but it would probable ended in tears, namely mine.
I'm wrecked!
