A query on titanium

hey y'all,

I've already sorta started down this path and figured I'd pop the question out there before I've gone too far... I'm sure I'll end up in the Fwit thread but whatever....

I bought some Snow Peak double skin titanium mugs for family as Christmas presents and I'd like to personalise them. I thought of doing this by etching a logo into them somehow... my first thought was to get a stencil cut from vinyl and then attempting to sand blast it at home. Anyone have any thoughts on this before I fk a rather expensive mug?

hrm cool ta. I might give the borax method a go... I guess the vinyl stencil should be water proof and I can just immerse the face of the mug into the solution.

My Muru Ti frame has logos bead blasted and it looks good. Not sure if it is something you can do at home though.
