All Mountain Tyres

Yes. Roll well grip well. Not had a chance to try in the wet as not been on the bike for a while due to back issues. The tyres perform great across a variety of surfaces. Don’t think about them which is a good sign they are doing their job.
Noice. I've got a hankering to try some new tyres and the bike shop has some 2.6s at a fairly hefty discount currently. Pretty tempted.

I always forget to post in here when I get new tyres.

I've had about 4-5 rides on some e13 All Terrains front and rear. Both Enduro casing, mopo high grip compound. Weight was around 1250g

My local You Yangs rides usual also involve a bitumen commute home.

Tyres have been excellent on the sandy/rocky sometimes soft conditions on the trails. And they roll surprisingly well.

BREAKING NEWS: After much deliberation (read: wasting a lot of time on the internet) I've made a new tyre choice. Gonna go with some of the Goodyear Escapes; Max Trail Lite Grip3 on the front; Inter Trail Plus Grip2 (it's possible they've got too many options) on the rear.

Been happy with the Newton MTF / MTR in a variety of conditions so we'll see how their more "trail focused" versions go.

Is that you Hambo?

Hey man, don't stifle my creativity. You can have multiple user accounts*

Regardless yes seems like a redundant post but I figure given they're a relatively new tyre it gives me an opportunity to offer sage advice or you lot an opportunity to laugh at my poor life choices in a few month's time.

Anyone run Vittoria Syerra?

I'm trying to find something to replace the original Wild AM and Bontrager XR4, so has to be as close 800 grams as possible , decent grip and roll.

Also considering Ground Control, Forekaster (not a Maxxis fan though) and Hutchinson Wyrm (seriously underrated brand but impossible to find at the moment)
I ended up getting some GCs, fast traks and previous gen purgatorys for a ridiculous price.

The purgs are mediocre in the same way as aggressors and dissectors, but very pleasantly surprised by the GC. Very good grip and rolling balance.

Has anyone ridden Continental Krypototals and the new Schwalbe Radials?

Tossing up between:
A. Kryptotal F 29x2.5 (Trail Casing, Soft) on the front paired with a Xynotal 27.5 (Enduro Casing, Soft) on the rear; or
B. Schwalbe Magic Mary Radial 29x2.5 (Trail Pro, Soft) on the front with a Albert Radial 27.5x2.5 (Trail Pro, Soft) on the rear.

Currently on non-radial Magic Mary/Hans Dampf with Supertrail casing which are a pretty solid all-round combo, which still roll reasonably well.

The radial casing has me intrigued, but i suspect the Continental combo is better suited to the loose gravel of the You Yangs where I mostly ride.

Both, Conti Argotals and Kryptotals in DH casing, soft rears, supersoft fronts. Rode a couple of sets of the Argotals, swapped to Kryptotals then removed them prematurely to run Gravity Pro Albert radials for the summer, still on the Alberts but will swap back to the Kryptotals if we get a winter here.
The radials are nice tyres and do not lose side knobs regular Schwalbe style.

I had a trail casing Krypto , the casing is ridiculously fragile. Pierced it twice in half a dozen rides. One hole plugged OK , the other had to be patched , then pierced it again a few rides later. Still had 80 - 90% tread when I gave up on it.
Aside from that , it was great tyre.

Geez, for the price of those tyres I'd be pissed.

I'm supremely happy with the 2.5 Minion DHF exo+ 3C MAxx Terra up front and the 2.4 Dissector of the same casing and compound on the rear. Probably the most confidence I've had in grip since I put an Ardent on the rear.

I have to rescind my previous complaint about the dissector, which I pinched 10 mins into my first ride. If my new digital tyre pressure gauge is to be believed, when I thought I was running about 23psi, I was actually on about 15psi..., hence the sidewall damage.

I’ve had the complete opposite experience with Kryptotals. DH casing though.
They are the toughest longest lasting tire I’ve owned. I’ve not had a single puncture. I’ve also not bothered with a Cushcore like I used to run as the sidewalls are quite stiff.
I would still put the Michelin Wild Enduro above it for all out grip but these are a great all round tire.

Decided on Kryptotal F Enduro Soft on the front, with Xynotal Enduro Soft on the rear.

I love the current Hans Dampf on the rear at the moment. The MM is okay. Definitely a better tyre when it has something to dig into, and despite that is reasonable on the hard and dry. It's not the most confidence inspiring tyre when tipped right over onto the side knobs on hardpack.

The Conti setup it probably better suited to the dryer conditions of most of my riding so will be interested to see how it goes.

If Schwalbe come out with the Hans Dampf in radial, I think my ideal setup would be an Albert Trail Pro Soft on the front, with a Hans Dampf on the rear.

It was pretty cheap , around $90 about 2 years ago. I reckon I know why that was now , and why trail casings are still the cheapest Contis these days. ;)
Current tyres are about done (DHF / MM), I plan to go Kryptos front and rear but they will be DH casing because Ebike.

I must be thinking of something different - thought I’d seen Kryptos at at about $130
