For that price I can get a Specilazied Butcher and Eliminator and still have some money left over.
Norman, is that you?Tempted to buy them and … flip them …
They're a discontinued series of tyres so if you think flipping them may work out I have copies of yesterday's newspaper and some expired milk for sale. Very competitive prices....Someone is selling a brand new set of Soil Searching Butcher (Grid Trail T9)/Eliminator (Grid Trail T7) for $50 the pair. Tempted to buy them and either flip them or keep them for later..
How do they compare to Maxxis AssGuy/DHF/DHR II MaxTerra Exo+ etc?
Prefer the Hillbillys in winter. Handle the mud and wet trails better than butcher and eliminator. BUT are not light and not fast rolling though still roll pretty good in mud and clay. They're a discontinued series of tyres so if you think flipping them may work out I have copies of yesterday's newspaper and some expired milk for sale. As far as how they are I've been mucking around with a set of 2.6s in Grid Trail Butcher, Grid Gravity Eliminator and no complaints for the money. Pretty lightweight and faster rolling than equivalent Maxxis.

Mine has gone flat, so I’ll pump it up again and sloosh the sealant around some more and see if it holds pressure. That was my experience as well. I reached out to e13 and they said it's like that and sealant will do its job. I never followed through to confirm if it did.. just took it off and still sitting in the garage as a spare
The DH casing SS definitely did not have any of those issues. Especially the loose bead. They were tight AF.I had some ethirteen semi slicks back in the day with the seeping, wobbly casings and loose beads etc.
I won this tyre quite a while ago and have just had it kicking around. I'll see how it goes after a few rides. The all terrains are newer than the trsr in the pic, and ethirteen may have changed manufacturers since.

Second this with the krypto's - running the DH casings with no inserts. They're 2 years old now, have done a trip to whistler and a trip to maydena. No flats, front tyre still looks good, still ride nice. The rear is starting to look pretty haggard though..I’ve had the complete opposite experience with Kryptotals. DH casing though.
They are the toughest longest lasting tire I’ve owned. I’ve not had a single puncture. I’ve also not bothered with a Cushcore like I used to run as the sidewalls are quite stiff.
I would still put the Michelin Wild Enduro above it for all out grip but these are a great all round tire.
