I must be thinking of something different - thought I’d seen Kryptos at at about $130
I dug up the email , it was from Bikeinn , March 2023. $70aud!

Reckon you got a bargain. Pushy's:

Expensive in Aus, about 45-55 euros each from ZG. Decent tyres though.

There were a few here that got white decal Krypos from a local shop about 12-18 months ago, not much more than $50-$60 each.

Obviously OEM but cant see them marking them the same as their yellow decal tyres if they were in any way inferior.

Someone is selling a brand new set of Soil Searching Butcher (Grid Trail T9)/Eliminator (Grid Trail T7) for $50 the pair. Tempted to buy them and either flip them or keep them for later..

How do they compare to Maxxis AssGuy/DHF/DHR II MaxTerra Exo+ etc?

They're a discontinued series of tyres so if you think flipping them may work out I have copies of yesterday's newspaper and some expired milk for sale. Very competitive prices....

As far as how they are I've been mucking around with a set of 2.6s in Grid Trail Butcher, Grid Gravity Eliminator and no complaints for the money. Pretty lightweight and faster rolling than equivalent Maxxis.

Prefer the Hillbillys in winter. Handle the mud and wet trails better than butcher and eliminator. BUT are not light and not fast rolling though still roll pretty good in mud and clay.

Fair point, I think I'd rather keep them.

They're both 2.3 so hopefully not too skinny!

I won an E-Thirteen tyre a while ago and got around to fitting it the other day. It leaks like a sieve. Hopefully the sealant will eventually seal it.

That was my experience as well. I reached out to e13 and they said it's like that and sealant will do its job. I never followed through to confirm if it did.. just took it off and still sitting in the garage as a spare

Mine has gone flat, so I’ll pump it up again and sloosh the sealant around some more and see if it holds pressure.

I put E13 All Terrains on my bike a month ago and did not experience any of that.

Sealed first go, no side wall leaks.

I was using FJ's Juicy Jizz Tyre Sealant®️

The all terrains are newer than the trsr in the pic, and ethirteen may have changed manufacturers since.

I had some ethirteen semi slicks back in the day with the seeping, wobbly casings and loose beads etc.

I’ve had the complete opposite experience with Kryptotals. DH casing though.
They are the toughest longest lasting tire I’ve owned. I’ve not had a single puncture. I’ve also not bothered with a Cushcore like I used to run as the sidewalls are quite stiff.
I would still put the Michelin Wild Enduro above it for all out grip but these are a great all round tire.
Second this with the krypto's - running the DH casings with no inserts. They're 2 years old now, have done a trip to whistler and a trip to maydena. No flats, front tyre still looks good, still ride nice. The rear is starting to look pretty haggard though..

So after buying a DHR II to replace the DHF on the front, I've started leaning a bit more and starting to trust the DHF a bit more.

I wish I'd ordered the Krypto/Xyno combo sooner when I was in Europe - I waited too long and they went out of stock. No way am I paying Australian prices for them.

I'll see if I can get a set delivered to the UK next April, maybe they'll have an Endurance/Enduro combination.
